Doesn't look like this is a swing bowlers dream this morning.
Doesn't look like this is a swing bowlers dream this morning.
Second test starts on Thursday.
Bit dull over at Notts for the second Eng WI test.
Entertaining knock of 71 from Duckett. He'll be disappointed to get out though.
England 118 for 2 after 21 overs
Winning the toss and asking England to bat seems odd on a surface and a day as good as this.
194/3
Harry Brook going for it.
England have just past 400 on the first day with the loss of 8 wickets.
They’ll be looking to enforce the follow on, I reckon.
Well, if this all seems a bit turgid, never mind.
It'll soon be time for the hundred.![]()
^ Well I think it's fine, Windies finding two batsmen with some fight and some skill, wood was quite hostile at times and they survived that. Stokes tends to make things happen but chose to rest himself, no idea why. Bashir is young but lacks experience and variations yet. Annnndddd let's not forget it was a bit of a road yesterday with Eng deciding to get themselves out. We may get a 5 day test.
We need Stokes bowling.
Broady's comments on his boots, maybe not so much.
274 / 4
Interestingly poised now.
We could have done with Broad or Anderson.![]()
Ball doing a bit, cloudy. I think the Windies will fancy bowling in these conditions
Fukin pathetic from Stokes. Got 3 out with just normal bowling and then he starts spreading the field. What a cvnt.
Comedy show. Crawley run out backing up and the bottom of Pope's bat snaps off.
Pedestrian start by Eng.......
Compared to the first innings
Well, pretty decent fightback.
So, what would be a decent total for a declaration, or is this going to peter out into a draw?
^ I reckon they'll need 450 on this deck. But Stokes may dangle a carrot.
Brook gets his 1st hundred Eng.
Root gets a 50 and goes past Chanderpaul up to 7th on the top test run scorers at 11868. Next target Lara on 11953
Yeah, lead at 298 right now, and they'll definitely want over 420.
So, some heavy hitting needed once Stokes has got his eye in.
Two maiden overs and Stokes throws his wicket away. Poor from the Capt.
