Looks good. It has been years since I've eaten cannelloni. I used to eat it regularly in the UK. I think I've eaten it only once or twice in Thailand.

Where exactly is the Greyhound Cafe, Topper? A trip there might be in order.

I'd give it an above average, but not by much, the sauce was decent.

...they have a number of restaurants, but: be warned: many are located in *gasp*...malls! Siam Discovery and Central World come to mind...query: Does Greyhound sound less pretentious then Chien Gris?...

Got a deal at the local wet market...got two complete flllets for 800B. We cut the tail pieces and the slabs off the head end to freeze for later.

One of the things that the lady running our local fish monger and I had a chat about was the crab meat prices...the last time I bought a half kilo of crab there it was around 380B...now it's 750B

Had some brats and rings for dinner tonight...put some applewood smoke on my brats with my little smoker box while having the brats on the top rack of the bbq, low heat. Then turned everything on high, put em on the lower rack and got some marks on them. Had a couple with horseradish and a couple with spicy brown mustard.

I used to make my own onion ring batter with buttermilk, flour, salt, sugar and baking powder...but...have found this batter mix and like it better:

Good stuff. I'm full as a tick.

edit: used some foil on the cooking sheet this time...thanks PAG.

^Not squash, but with mushrooms. Delicious! I make the batter a little thinner than the box suggests too...crispier.

edit: That may have been the problem with my homemade batter...I don't think I was making it thin enough.

edit2: used to put the finished onion rings on paper towels but found they didn't stay as crispy as they do using that broiler pan.

^Good wintertime comfort food. The wife made some excellent homemade potato soup with diced ham the other day. I told her it was a good wintertime meal. The only problem was it was about 90 degrees F. that day.

    Stiil really good though.

SKkin, those sausages look 'kin lovely. I'm imagining some of them stickin out some horseradish mashed potatoes. Wipes dribble, looks at clock to see he'll have to wait 6 hours, holds head in hands......

^Thanks NPT. Smoking those bratwursts on the BBQ first before actually grilling them made a difference. Very tasty.

NPT’s writing style reminds me a bit of Anna Key.

Jeesus, i'm being accused of being a TEFLer - that is a low blow. Choose what you wish but i have never been a member on any other Thai forum. Lurked on a few like TV but never had any interest in AJ or its teaching ilk, i honestly could not think of a worse way to earn a crust - i'd be locked up for assault within the first week. I don't posses a teaching qualification and the quals I have would probably disbar me from any teaching position, and no they are not criminal.
