I note amid the carefully disguised can or two of Prego that you have a jar of Patak's...I'm addicted to Patak's lime pickle: I serve it on the side with a spinach/feta omelet and a healthy chunk of crusty baguette...Originally Posted by Dillinger

Octopus was a bit rubbery but worth it for the mega nutrition and vitamins
Health Benefits of Octopus
First of all, octopus packs a lot of nutrition into a single serving. In just one 3 oz portion, there is 510% DV for B12. This vitamin is responsible for making red blood cells and helping your body use fatty acids. This can be a hard nutrient for vegetarians and vegans to get enough of because it is a water soluble vitamin and you need to consume some every day.
More than your DV for Selenium is also found in a single serving. Selenium is an important nutrient because it aids in cellular growth, boosts immune function and works with vitamin E as an antioxidant.
Iron is also an important nutrient and a challenge for some to eat enough of. Luckily you can add octopus to your diet and in one serving you are consuming almost half of what you need for the day! Iron-rich foods help keep your immune system healthy and aids in brain development.
Octopus is also a high source of copper. This trace mineral helps your body make hemoglobin and serves as a part of many enzymes.
Vitamin B6 works by turning tryptophan, an amino acid, into niacin and serotonin, important for mental health. It also helps produce insulin, antibodies and hemoglobin.
It also contains more than 1/4 of 1g of recommended omega-3 fatty acids that you should try to consume daily for heart health.
An Italian chef at the Shangri-la Hotel (by the river) once told me that marinating the octopus (or squid) overnight in milk is an effective tenderizer...Originally Posted by Chittychangchang

If you knew him better you wouldn't be touching that without a short wave radio tuned into the police reports.
I'll keep that in mind, thanks for that, Tom.Originally Posted by tomcat

I bow down...that's amongst the best I've seen here....
Thank you kindly Sir, Geeta did all the hard work, bless her.

Fantastic Lu, brilliant presentation too.
Love Indian food... might do some tonight..
Yeah, as beer food, I think a Mexican spread just takes it, with an Indian not far behind.
And in fairness a table full of kor moo yang, larb gai, nam tok moo, pik gai tod, khao neow is not far behind that.
^But pies don't really cut it when pissed. Indian and Mexican most certainly do, but it's fucken hard to say no to fish'n'chips or burgers or chips or kebabs or fried chicken or pizzas or....
"You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to Luigi again." It seems the Lulu line is always busy when I call...
