I like BB's posts. He's got the knack for nice presentation (there's almost always alcohol there) and a Thai missus who can obviously cook.
It's weird seeing Thai food surrounded by nice kitchenware though.

Some mid-morning soakage for the stellar day that awaits.
I'll skip the beans but that bacon sarmie!! Oh ya!
I'm sure there's photos of me beans on some of the other threads. These ones can be picked up at any supermarket. Tops and Villa do the good, high-class imported ones if you're looking for some fine dining.
You betcha. Glad someone picked that up."stellar day" ... I hope that actually meant ...![]()

I'll bring the basil, baguette and cheese.
Yes Mike, the extended Thai Family all farm Tilapia.
Grocery delivery is a no go ... access to the Farm is difficult during the dry weather, and near impassable in the wet.
This is just after a local shower ...

In lieu of pancetta, a few rashers of bacon start the dish off very well. I also tend to add more 'erbs compared to the recipe in the Torygraph.

Ok... so thinking of dinner tonight I decided upon a beef stew.
Beef caramelised
Celery and onion added and sauted until soft
Time for S & P
Beef returned to the pot and a generous amount of tomato paste added.
along with some chopped garlic
Whilst not forgetting
and to end Part 1.... 2 spoons of flour and about 750ml of beef stock.
off to simmer for 1 hour whilst I do the washing up.
Part Le Deux will follow
