^Good effort and a lot of elbow grease used for sure, but why not bin it and get a new one?. Those counter top hobs just pop out and have a power cable/plug hanging out the back of them. The much nicer looking and easy to clean black glass 2 burner hobs aren't expensive and it's a DIY changeover. Just saying!.

^You should invite your friend over for dinner more often, and get him/her to come over an hour or two early . Those ovens work fine but like any oven cooking, timing is everything!.

I've never used one but have friends that rave about air-fryers for cooking everything from steaks to roasts. The real beauty of them - they tell me - is being able to look through the glass tops to get a good look at when things are ready for the plate.

^ Those glass convention ovens do look tidy for roasts etc.

I do them so seldom I've never bothered getting one in addition to the the main oven. Might pick one up if I pass one though.

That plate of grub does look tasty.

I used my small oven that looks a like like Dills to do up a dinner for the 3 friends visiting my daughter. Thought I would surprise them before they left for the islands of South Thailand.

    Began with this.

    Proceeding along
    Gotta have garlic bread.

    Something is going on..

Yup we are making pizzas. What kind would you like? One of the friends adding cheese.

Just about ready to pop this one in.

Hell do some hot wings as well.

    Not bad in the end.

I'm skipping dinner tonight as I've become a massively fat bastard. The rest of y'all enjoy whatever you're having!

I've been monitoring that. How anyone fasts for that long is beyond me. I find missing a meal a daunting prospect!

You know, i looked at that plate numerous times and wondered what the black spots were. Thinking some sort of posh drops of oyster sauce. Until I realised it was the pattern!!

I think Pimms is better than voddie!! And i even had my glasses on, what an eejit!!

My hob looked like that when I moved into the new rental. I went to Villa and purchased an American BBQ cleaning spray in a white pump bottle. After gently warming the rings for a short while I turned them off and sprayed the whole area with the spray which immediately foams up.

I left it for about 20 minutes and when I returned the white foam was now full of brown coloured stuff.... a few wipes with a cloth and the amount removed was amazing. It took a couple more treatments over a day or so but now it looks like brand new and not 9 years old.

That sort of stuff works wonders. You can also spray the inside of an oven with it and leave it overnight. The crud just wipes off the next day.

LOL, in the states, it's called oven cleaner. Yes, it does work absolute wonders, as long as the place is well ventilated.

Not being from the states I do understand that these substances are basically the same beit called Oven or BBQ cleaner.

The reason I recommended this one from Villa was:
    a) It worked
    b) There was very little smell or vapours
    c) It worked.

Yup, it's part of the logo.

    Somewhere.

    In Phnom Penh.

A restaurant is missing a plate.

And a tin of peas dated from 1876.

The no vapor is a big one....the last time I used such a product, the chemical aroma was rather intense.
