Got some nice Aussie chuck from the supermercado last week.
Sealed it in the pan with some onions and paprika.
Let it stew for 90 minutes with tomatoes, stock and herbs, then added some peppers and cooked for the same amount of time before serving it with mashed potatoes (didn't have the stuff in the cupboards for dumplings).
Ate the rest at work during the week with rice. The longer it was left, the better it got.

Are you a one arm bandit ?? ^

He's a bandit for sure ,
Stroller.
I've had ostrich a couple of times but them tatties look, scrumptious!
Tonight it was cod with lemon & pepper, spuds, lemon balm from stroller's herb garden sprinkled over the veges:

^That to me is perfect home cooking. As was your Ostrich which was a blast from the past. You just don't see Ostrich meat on menus or in meat shops these days like we use to years ago (much to the dismay of the poor bastards who were paying something like U$D 10-15k per breeding pair at the height of the "boom").
Anyway it was the basic meat and veg here tonight too, rib eye with mash pumpkin, sprouts and beans, and sauteed 'shrooms/onions. Not very photogenic but it tasted great!.
And a gynecologist view. Last time I posted well caramelized steak someone asked why I overcooked it. If I want well done it'll be local chicken or pork, NOT imported rib eye!.

Picadillo - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picadillo
The wife made the Filipino version and instead of serving it with rice, we used the butter cup lettuce as our delivery means.
I heartily recommend it....

My missus make something similar with the lettuce vessel filled with mackeral and a spicy peanut sauce, very refreshing food.
That sounds great as well. Pop up a recipe, please!Originally Posted by Chittychangchang

Charley's pies usually have an egg in the middle.
Tonight, all the way from Bonnie Scotland i shall be eating a Scotch Egg and a wee tomato and scallion salad.
Tomorrow, Irish sausages and potato bread.
I have never actually brought home veggies, apart from parsnips. I have 4 leeks, a whole bunch of scallions and green beans. But nay parsnips.

^And that's not even mentioning that the OP put the word PEPPER instead of CHILLIES in his post describing what was on the plate.
