Pretty much the same as Au Gratin without the white sauce, it's called galette.

1 mm sliced spuds, layer, brush with melted butter, add salt pepper thyme, some minced spanish onion and shredded cheese.
Repeat until bowl is full, top with the same and some cumin and chilli flakes.
55 min or so at 200,
