My great grandmother advised against buying any bird which had "not enough cutting" on it. You would need a lot of chips and bread and butter to make a meal out of that one.

Special request from Jack, also a French delicacy.

^No. They did have them at Friendship in Pattaya about 10 years ago but like so many imported things here, when you run out and go back to get more they're gone and never return!. I asked on a few Thai food forums about them and not one person in the country could help. Your only option (that I know of) is to get someone coming from overseas to bring you a few boxes of them.

    Learned an invaluable lesson today.

Took some onions and champagne mushrooms. Pinch o' thyme.

Added the stewed pork and pinch o' rice from a Khao Kaa Moo.

    Drizzled with the KKM sauce.

    And placed on an omelette.

    WTF.

    Invaluable lesson:

Don't start drinking Montclair until after 3pm.

^ its quite cheap in there, first time I've been in.That katsu curry was only 180 baht plus 40 extra to supersize it with that pickled carrot, potato salad, misu soup and some crappy bean dessert

First attempt at French Onion Chicken with Mushrooms. Was edible but a few technique improvements required. Need to saute the onions longer to get a stronger caramelization and use a bit less flour to create the roux.

^One of the best parts of home cooking is you can screw something up having your first go at it, but it's still ok, and you've learned a thing or three for the next attempt. Post pics of your next crack at this one, a quick Google of the dish and recipes shows it would be a good one to get right
