Looks good enough to make me want to hit the local Ru Yi restaurant this afternoon. I'll even wait till the wife gets off work and take her too.

    RU TI

Maybe some of this will do:

    or this:

Not sure what their names are for the dishes. Their website needs a little work.

Maybe I'll get a pic of what actually arrives at the table.

Is the one on the right that three layer pork -- 1st. crispy, 2nd. fatty, 3rd. meaty? Love that.

    Salmon & blackbean sauce

And the Happy family looks a goer.

Post the pics and thank me later.

    Thanks, but...

Not a fan of salmon...or tuna. Think I'll avoid their sushi too.

In the mood for something spicy and cooked. Said in my ribs thread that I like most veggies raw, but don't mind veggies cooked Asian style.

It did surprise me the only black bean sauce meal on the menu was with salmon

That does sound good. Don't know if it would satisfy my spicy urge though. I assume you left your card # since you're ordering.

Wait...how is yours $12 and in my quote it's $16.25? You have an inside angle already?

Ok happy, here's the deal. That was a Chinese stir-fried pork belly and cabbage dish. Even though it is still pictured on their website it's no longer on the menu. Waiter told me the dish name but I couldn't savvy his accent...he's Asian.

Dinner at Ru Yi...My wife and I had the Crab Rangoon appetizer(2 of them) @ USD 3.50 apiece:

My grandson had an Octopus - Tako Sashimi appetizer(with shaved ginger and wasabi on the side) @ USD 4.50:

Grandson had Chicken Lo Mein as his main course @ USD 8.00...he had already tucked in before I could take either pic:

I had the Mongolian Beef as my main @ USD 9.75:

My wife had as her main the Sweet & Sour Chicken @ USD 9.25...and she said if I took a pic of her dish, she would stab me with her fork. Kind of testy after working all day.

So total with soft drink beverages about 48 USD and a 9 USD tip. We all had to bring some of our dinners home in take-out boxes as they were large portions. My spicy urge was well satisfied with the Mongolian Beef.

Not a foo-foo joint like tomcat frequents...but we were all satisfied with the meal.

It's a pretty small place, but wasn't crowded, as we usually eat dinner earlier than most(1630 today). Not my pic:

Lo Mein looks like our Chow Mein.
That Mongolian beef looks a winner.

    Thanks SKkinny.

You're welcome...that beef hit the spot for sure. Forgot to mention and didn't get it in the pics...but there were also bowls of rice on the side for the wifes and my dinner.

My ribs just went in ethe oven. 130 for 3 hours before even a check. Used what I could find around the house and bought some smoked paprika for the rub. Thanks for the inspiration on your thread mate... Gotta get a run in as well so I dont fall asleep.

Cajun potato salad and sliced cold veg with ranch dressing to close out the meal.

About as simple as it gets which is exactly the way I like it, steak and salad.

    Dinner-s3-jpg
Start with a good piece of meat.

    Dinner-s4-jpg
    Onto a plate with salad.

    Dinner-s2-jpg
Cooked medium-rare with no sauces required, just the resting juices poured back on top of the meat.

^Yes it is mate. Been buying that for cook-at-home steak for a very long time and am yet to be disappointment. Of course, some days it doesn't look as good (not enough marbling, too fatty, too lean, slightly pale in colour, etc) so I just buy Lamb Chops instead for red meat that week.

I hate it when you get Palomena prasina served with your dessert. Just creme fresh is all it needs no need to add crunch
