About 50 metres up the Damrak as you come out of the station.

    Vlaamse frites.

    tripadvisor.com

They have about 95 different sauces now for your chips. And, apparently, there was also a Moroccan fella lurking nearby back in the day who served up a bit more than your chips and mayonnaise.

    Apparently.

I love pad krapow vua, but pad krapow moo is a close second. Well third actually, because I think that pad krapow gai is probably my second.

I could eat this stuff for lunch every day, which is lucky because once I mentioned that I like it to the wife, this is all I get.

At least there's no more pig intestine soup.

    Today, pad krapow moo.

Is this Isaan food or Thai food? Fukked if I know.

That's a damn sexy looking pic. Now I'm torn between cooking dinner( for myself) already cooked for the sprogs .or simply having a few more Monsuta Okinawa dry lagers.

    Aberdam

    Holy fuck dirk. That's insane
Aberdam.indeed I bet the Aberdam poutine with a side order of black pudding or haggis will get the French Canadians confused. Brilliant.im guessing it will be successful.

I actually overshot it as I didn’t realise they operate within other bars, so their sign wasn’t on show.

Ended up in another ew place called GDK - German Doner Kebab.

    Not bad.

Had a nice Porterhouse for lunch with a tater, bacon crumbles and fresh Italian spiced carrots off the grill while watching NBA by the pool.

    GRAVY!!!!!.

That's a mask to cover a nice cut of properly cooked steak. But I do understand. Air fryers, burnt food and LOADS of gravy to cover it up. The cooks at the restaurants have an easssssy job in the UK. Burn and put bowls of gravy on the plate with a big plate of peas.

Never fly here in the US.

I see you like some food with your pepper

Why do you cover it in pepper?

I've never seen so much pepper on a meal!

Are you, a yank, really slating another country for burnt, dry food?

I'd sit this one out if I were you.

Seriously, I've never seen so much " seasoning" on a plate of food.

    It looks fooking ruined imho!

All you would taste is crunchy pepper corns

And I get slated for my cooking!!!

All this talk of ham reminds me of the one I cooked for Christmas day lunch.

    Lunch ... the second course-20241225_142154-jpg

Studded with cloves and cooked in cider to retain the moisture.

    Lunch ... the second course-20241225_105008-jpg

Honey and mustard sauce on top of the fat for a glazed crust and dripping down into the cider to whip up a cracking gravy underneath for the leftovers (although we had Bisto on the day on my mum's instructions )

    Lunch ... the second course-20241225_130943-jpg

Ham all the way now for Christmas dinner. Turkey is overrated shite.

To be fair Americans cook up some great food. Especially when it comes to BBQ'd and smoked meats.

It's just that for whatever reason a massive % of the population opt to gorge on processed fast-food garbage by the ton-load.
