Could quite possibly have come from the rescue foundation that attended the crime scene. It's their duty to take photos of their call outs to prove they're doing their jobs and to also drum up donations.
Bearing in mind the police were handing around photos of the dead and naked bodies of tourists on Kao Lak beach just after tsunami, for their own amusement, I don't doubt they had their smartphones out on Koh Tao.
Whatever, surely this issue should also be Investigated?

    Investigated for what exactly?
Perfectly normal behavior here, there are magazines dedicated to crime scene photos.

^^ "191" and other Thai magazines offer full-colour crime / accident photos. Interspersed with semi-nude girlie pictures.. Go figure.

Good point that seems swept under the table. This does need clearing up.
As soon as the BIB got their bribes, obviously this story was dropped and the Burmese 100% targetted.

Maybe human decency, respect for the families of the victims?

I agree it is probably normal behavior here. But surely not in the civilized world.

Having said that, I must confess that I have seen them. But if that option was not open to me, it wouldn't have been a miss.

I've asked 20 Thais over the last few days from all walks of life their opinion on this, and every single one has said it wasn't the Burmese and they're being fitted up to bring closure.

Yep- whatever the facts (if ever established) there is no doubt who the Thai suspect, indeed accuse. Guess they've been living in Thailand too long.
Is there any truth to the rumors that the 'influential people' were also PDRC guards?

KOH TAO MURDERS - 'MAFIA' RESORT UNDER INTERNET ATTACK

    Monday, October 13, 2014
    1
A resort on the Thai island where Hannah Witheridge and David Miller were brutally murdered has come in for a drubbing on tripadvisor.

The resort, which appears to have had bad reviews even before the brutal murders, now even has a revue saying ‘if you value your life don’t stay here’.

One reviewer said he 'didn't find any, worst place in thailand'. And others warned people to stay away because the hotel is ‘mafia’ run, One said he had to run out of the resort and staff laughed when he asked for money back.

Reviewers complain of everything from pubic hairs in the bed to rude offensive and arrogant staff and another said: 'If you value your well being don't stay here."

He apparently had a 'deeply unpleasant experience'. The reviewer who complained of a dirty room, and and pubic hairs in the bed, claimed his friend was harrassed at the bar by drug dealer, and described the resort as 'vile, not worth the money."

But there was one good review by 'Travelling Asia' who found it friendly and welcoming though dated.

But the next reviewer said he would have been better off in a hostel.

Thai Police have denied there are 'mafia' on Koh Tao. If there were, they would of course have been told about them.

Tomorrow two Burmese migrant workers are due to appear in court in Koh Samui charged with the rape and murder of Hannah Witheridge and the murder of David Miller.

Zaw Lin and Win Zaw Htun, both 21,are not expected to plea. They will be remanded for 12 days a a time until the prosecution is ready to proceed.

It is understood that their defence lawyers may request the assistance of the British authorities in DNA identification evidence.

Despite Thai police protests Zaw Lin and Win Zaw Htun are widely believed to be scape goats for more sinister people on Koh Tao.

I'm starting to feel a little sorry for the many undoubtably honest and decent people plying their trade on Koh Tao. Usually the few that stuff it up for the many. I doubt the island feels much like the Land of Samiles right now.

You don't think that for one minute that when the two victims arrived back in the U.K. that they where not swabbed for DNA. and other evidence.
This is going to not go away, it is going to be a fight between the RTP and the British polices evidence.

On his SoundCloud page, Sean McAnna said investigators need to look for three people who worked at AC Bar and haven't shown up since it happened.

Unfortunately, even though I said to the papers that they need to look for the 3 guys who haven't shown up for work at AC since it happened.

Seems as this was the collective consensus amongst everyone for at least a week now....

So - everyone knows this whole affair was a scam and cover-up from the start.

    Now what?

Saw a news blurb where occupancy there was approaching 90%. The word has not quite gotten out to the world yet. Protecting rich thugs is a pitiful thing for a country to do if they expect to be good hosts to tourists. I knew this country had problems, but this fiasco has really exposed what Thailand considers important, and it sure isn't fairness, honesty, or compassion.
