Come back to the God thread RPETER there's still questions we need you to help us with![]()
love it when they get caught out. Usually they tweak the script a bit but on the lesser stories they cannot be arsed.
I see there is an entire thread dedicated to "FOX News". Must not be a popular nor legitimate news station to deserve soo much attention.
I never heard of it. Where is it broadcast?. I would like to catch an episode.
Fox News viewers are a funny lot; they have their faith, no need for truth or factual reporting - kinda matches a certain demographic; not so much a news station, more of a network that preaches to the believers...

^ I've seen it from time to time - not a 'watcher'...
I watch various news sources and kinda average it out then try to make my own mind up. I'm not much of a believer in other people's conventions; especially corporate cronies such as Murdoch.

I'd give their straight news a 5/10. They do a lot of editing that slants the truth. 75% of their programming is editorial. The token liberals they employ like Juan Williams are insipid lackeys.Originally Posted by RPETER65

Fox News Main Page Headline: Federal Judge rules immigration action unconstitutional.
Actual: A judge issues opinion in response to a criminal case.
"Article" closes with this gem: The latest opinion was first reported by the Volokh Conspiracy blog
Federal judge: Obama immigration actions 'unconstitutional' | Fox News

It was on the news section. The story opens with "A federal judge has found parts of President Obama's immigration executive actions unconstitutional" and that is also what the host said introducing the story and that is patently untrue.Originally Posted by RPETER65
I am not putting any spin on it. FOX is.
In law-talking dude speak the Judge's little rant about the executive action is, at best, "dicta" meaning it is SOLELY his opinion and has no binding force of law. Legally it is as relevant as if he'd taken a moment to opine on who should be the NFL MVP this season in the middle of his opinion. Rule #1 of federal courts: No "advisory" opinions allowed, there must be an "actual case or controversy" in front of the judge to decide on or the ruling is null and void.
It is a prime example of FOX lying in the middle of the news section which you say strives to tell the truth.

Stop trying to put up strawmen.

I am not trying to put up a straw man, it is not uncommon for all news sources to do exactly the same thing, you are just searching for ways to discredit one particular news source. Every day I find and point out exactly this type of reporting on liberal news blogs. If your going to point out this type of reporting from Fox News why don't you be a little more honest and include the entire news sources. In this way you are being just as dishonest.
The fact is, the facts in the article are there all one has to do is read.
