Young people are far more likely to watch Colbert, The daily show and read the NYT then they are to watch cable news. Just look at Hannity almost all his viewers are old geezers. Telling.

more than 40% of o'reilly and hannity veiwers are older than 65.

1. i'd really like to see what percent are older than 70 and 75.
2. after hannity and o'reilly, the highest percent over 65 is 28%

foxnews viewers and conservative voters dying off.....literally.

Colbert gets 80% of the under 50 demographic and he makes his living ridiculing conservative stupidity, what does that bode for the future?

Anyone who watches O'Reilly must be in early-onset dementia.

It's basically just a rolling commercial for his books and his tedious stage shows with the equally unfunny sidekick that he keeps bringing on for a plug.

The real telling number is the 18-29 demographic are shutting off cable news in droves. They primarily watch The Daily show, Colbert and read the NYT. That is an ominous sign for conservatism in the US. Clear evidence that the younger generation will not be marched of the cliffs by right wing dogma the way the older generations have.

I think you are doing a lot of wishfully thinking, every generation has a large share of it's young people who fall for the let's save the world movements, by the time there brain matures reality takes over and see the fallacy of there ideals

You are woefully out of touch. The results of the last presidential election make it crystal clear that the GOP, the party of homophobic old white men, does not appeal to the younger generation.

In the last election, voters ages 18 to 29 -- who made up 19 percent of the electorate, a greater share than in 2008, and half of whom cast a ballot, for the third presidential election in a row -- went for Obama by 60 percent to 36 percent for Romney.

The GOP base is made up primarily of angry old rednecks and you are a fast shrinking demographic and will soon be extinct. The GOP has identified the problem, but the party seems unable to do anything about it...

Like I said, they havn't had time for there brains to mature, polls are showing many of those Obama voters are now having buyers remorse. Good luck in the mid terms. Obama carried Florida, but I see in an early election a Republican surprisingly beat a Democrat, but I guess the truth will be known in November, I hope you can get over loosing the senate, good bye Harry.

I think that they are far more web savvy then previous generations. They can sift through the shit better then most. That is precisely why they watch The Daily show and Colbert.
