That is true to a certain extent, but would you agree that after a reasonable term in office/government then blaming others for problems becomes rather pathetic and is likely to turn voters off?

How about taking responsibility, following manifesto pledges (if you didn't know the state of affairs, don't make wild pledges because that's just lying) and having a personality/spine - something like being able to look into the camera and smile or attending events which are difficult (rather than just avoiding them). Look at the Finnish PM - wouldn't you vote for him, I would. We don't seem to have anybody like that. Starmer still gets advice from Blair's institute which is pretty close to Trump's funders (in some cases the same people - Larry Ellison, for example...). You're a smart guy, Cyrille, why support Starmer?

    Government Tracker – Full Fact

This is an informative piece about how well Labour has kept its manifesto pledges.

I wish Labour had taxed the filthy rich instead of making things so tough for business.

I believe there should be more emphasis on rejoining the EU, because BREXIT was bonkers.

In my opinion Labour would be far more inspiring with Burnham as leader, but that Reform would be disastrous and the tories are responsible for a very large amount of the troubles the country has.

Has anyone mentioned Suella Braverman defecting from the Tories to Reform on Monday?

^ Would the Tories see that as a loss?

So you agree that Starmer is crap, Cyrille, good... Taxing businesses is a nice way of saying taxing individuals through business as well as pensions and other personal taxes, reducing non-taxable limits in many areas. &&&&&, inflation is through the roof (as Simon43 is likely finding out) - but that goes back to Covid and out of control business greed (many with record profits), and, yes, the Tories being crap (like Labour), imho.

We cannot rejoin Europe; this idea alone, if pledged, would win Reform the election (&, I'm not Brexit was a success). We should get closer to Europe and be solid partners; It would be nice if there was a mature debate about what this means, in details.

One of the big problems with Brexit was there was zero intelligent discussion by either side.

Hmmm, I think it would have to be a tactical vote to keep Reform out - so whoever is leading them or closest to them in my area.

Yes, if it meant keeping reform out, but that other fella you mentioned should be in place for the next election.

Starmer would rather lose the by-election to Reform than let Burnham stand and become an MP.

^ You're probably right, Joe - he's a horrible man who cares about himself and not the party (he justifies this with his decontextualized neo-liberal ideology). I hate Blair more than any politician in my lifetime. Trump is next. Starmer and Merkel share third place.

Nick Clegg is an awful liar, always has been - students will never forget him. I rarely listen to this utter utter twat.&, he's weak, instead of accepting second fiddle to the Tories, Britain was ready for a change and he should have fought on to be the clear leader and PM. Wanker of the worst kind, imho.

Listening to his bs was painful - you have successfully ruined my day, Molle.

Indeed, the Lib Dems have no credibility after that massive u-turn on university fees for English students.

They had more votes than Labour and protesters at the time to make a difference but alas they sold out their members.

^ that is very true. So, thank you for breaking the monotony.

&, you're right, I would never vote for Clegg regardless of the situation. If he was closest to Reform in my local area, I wouldn't vote (which isn't good as it's a wasted vote, but Clegg... ).

They have no time for the deplorables. They and their supporters look down on ordinary folks unless they are in one of their favored minorities. They want to tax the shxt out of ordinary folks and spend the money on liberals.

The interviewer Victoria Darbyshire possesses one of those BBC schoolmistress faces that is in dire need of a good slapping.

^ I think she's way better than Kuenssberg, she doesn't tend to let politicians avoid answering the question posed but keeps on at them til they answer or just look moronic for not answering

The wanker.... straight out of the Orange Turd playbook.

Farage accuses Greens of 'cheating' and says by-election is 'a victory for sectarian voting'
