As a District Councillor I receive a taxable allowance of approx £450 a month. I'm sure I could claim expenses but it's not worth the bother. You get more for being a shadow portfolio holder or chairing a committee (overview and scrutiny, in the case of the opposition). Alas the shadow roles are doled out by the shadow leader (who also receives and enhanced allowance) to friends and supporters, irrespective of merit. A back bench County Councillor receives c £20,000 pa. But it's almost a full time job. Again, there's extra allowances for chairing committees and portfolio holders. The system is so corrupted that many roles are again doled out to supporters and those who will not rock the boat. Reform promise to rock the boat, but most of them struggle to find the harbour.....

    Exactly (as I said above).

These Tory twats are the ones to blame.

Yet there are people out there who want to elect Tories on steroids and the wankers who gave us the never-ending nightmare that is Brexit.

Police say they are investigating after a fire at UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer's house in north London in the early hours of the morning.
A cordon was put in place outside the Kentish Town property, with firefighters and police officers present.
The London Fire Brigade said it had been called to a "small fire" at 01:11 BST and it was under control 20 minutes later.
Sir Keir - who now lives at his official residence in Downing Street - is understood to still own the property.

Julian Foulkes, a retired special constable, dared to criticise the pro-Palestine marches in London. His post was viewed 26 times in total. Unfortunately, one of those views came from a Metropolitan Police unit specialising in extremism.

Two days after sending the post, six officers with batons and pepper spray arrested Mr Foulkes at his home, handcuffed him, searched his property for Right-wing material – rifling through his wife’s underwear while criticising his “Brexity” bookshelves – threw him in a jail cell for eight hours, then released him to accept a caution.

Yes, the "certain community" in question appears to have been the Jewish community.

Responding to a user who had defended participation in a pro-Palestinian demonstration, Mr Foulkes posted: “One step away from storming Heathrow looking for Jewish arrivals…”

He later told the Telegraph that his intention had been to highlight the risks of antisemitic escalation. Kent Police interpreted it as a potential antisemitic threat.

As a new party starting out, they will accept anyone who will stand without a prior history of local government workings or proper politics.

As they grow there will be defections and weedling out of the morons and eventually in three years time we will have a center right party elected.

But to be fair the damage to the UK has already irreversibly been done.

Yes, as those with functioning brains pointed out at the time, bojo and BREXIT were idiotic moves and Truss was even worse.

Yes, as those with functioning brains pointed out at the time, bojo and BREXIT were idiotic moves and Truss was even worse.

nothing whatsoever wrong with brexit, the fault was that the uk was never able to take advantage of the opportunities it provided, and a lot of that was down to fierce opposition in parliament, the lords, the civil service and last but certainly not least, the fuckers in the eu itself. the eu is becoming a lost cause and we are well out of it.

but that was the past cyrille, and now it is about time you moved on, stopped sounding like one of those boring weekend warrior student activists, and put that silly mantra of yours (bojo, truss, tory scum, right wing extremists, 14 years, racists, all their fault, brexit, etc.etc.etc.) back in its box and concentrated on the shit show starmer is presiding over right now. they have been in office for a year and done fuck all, other than make the country less prosperous, less law abiding, less democratic and less attractive to inward investment.

and regarding the eu you deluded old fart, trump, for all his sins, is about to hammer another well deserved nail into the eu's waiting coffin.

    Old Enoch then

    BadEnoch now

Enoch Powel I saw him speak a great orator from King Edward VI school even if you disagreed with his remedies. It was adjacent to the Ted Heath's Bexley constituency in1970 I think, the then PMs constituency and Wilson and various 60 politician's with my family.

A very different pre net world with very deferential interviews, old men insuiyts and dockers heckling bit lik ethe darts of a football match all an education for a young shaver.wilson Brown Thorpe Heath saw them all, Although I opposed her Thatcher was also a fair orator but Michael heseltine was notorious for "finding the clitoris of Tory party".

The phrase "finding the clitoris of the Conservative Party" is a metaphorical expression attributed to Michael Heseltine, a former Conservative politician. It's used to describe someone who understands how to appeal to and resonate with the core, most influential parts of the Conservative Party's base. It essentially means they know how to connect with the party's values, motivations, and priorities to gain traction and influence

    Nah.

You'll need more than that if you're posting about the last 35 years.

You'll also need something about how they both went wrong.

I haven't seen anything from you that suggests you're up for it.

I'm not saying you can't do that of course.

But 14 years of tories +1 year of Labour?

    Get to it.

    I'm looking forward to it.

    No, honestly.

They are pandering to the "Red Wall", that voted Cons before turing Liebour in the last election and if polls are to be believed look like voting reform in the next, its dog whistle politocs. Not one party has a cohertent strategy for the country covering ket issues like energy, food security, water, defence or transport, in fact none of these useless fuker has for decades and the country is in a mess and exposed to any and all global events as a result. I see no change in this situation and it'll get worse as the percentage of idolent voters get a gretaer say in the vote and these useless politicians pander to then to keep in power.

    In short we is fuked

^^What, you're just going to list things?

My god but you are one dim bulb, aren't you.

How different your life would be if your first language was of a standard where you could actually analyse things.

Instead you're just left with lists, videos and getting pissed.

    Oh well.
