The rise of Reform.

As a District Councillor I receive a taxable allowance of approx £450 a month. I'm sure I could claim expenses but it's not worth the bother. You get more for being a shadow portfolio holder or chairing a committee (overview and scrutiny, in the case of the opposition). Alas the shadow roles are doled out by the shadow leader (who also receives and enhanced allowance) to friends and supporters, irrespective of merit. A back bench County Councillor receives c £20,000 pa. But it's almost a full time job. Again, there's extra allowances for chairing committees and portfolio holders. The system is so corrupted that many roles are again doled out to supporters and those who will not rock the boat. Reform promise to rock the boat, but most of them struggle to find the harbour.....

As a new party starting out, they will accept anyone who will stand without a prior history of local government workings or proper politics.

They are pandering to the "Red Wall", that voted Cons before turing Liebour in the last election and if polls are to be believed look like voting reform in the next, its dog whistle politocs. Not one party has a cohertent strategy for the country covering ket issues like energy, food security, water, defence or transport, in fact none of these useless fuker has for decades and the country is in a mess and exposed to any and all global events as a result.
