Yes, it's a mistake defending yourself and winning battles
Why and how is 'acknowledged' that Ukraine is a "pseudo-state" a la Backspit's fever dreams and wishful thinking?
Not a lot of evidence to support major resistance against the Ukraine advance. It took a lot of Russian weaponry and soldiers to take this area in the first place. It will be very demoralising to lose it and have to try and regain it. This was the Russian war machine on its relentless advance across the Donbas that has been stopped and forced to retreat. That's quite an achievement by the Ukrainian army and one that may well cause the downfall of Putin.
A major victory in the South, that is the retaking of Kherson, will see the end of Putin.
The thunder run continues...IZIUM / 0100 UTC 13 SEP / UKR forces have continued to exploit the breakthrough at Izium. Late reports indicate that UKR units are in possession of the P-66 HWY south of Savatove and have also liberated the important junction at Kremenna.

Bsnub, a short note to say thank you for your updates. There is too much noise and non-news in the media, it is actually helpful to have someone research and filter some information that appears to be current and accurate.
Whichever way this thing turns it is history in the making and I want to feel informed about it. The Thai gf on the other hand seems almost totally unaware of what is going on. She is quite up to speed with FB clips of cute puppies being endearing and almost clueless as to Europe being close to a nuclear war. Maybe it is just her or does the Thai media not have much to say about Ukraine?
Your comment is appreciated. The graphs I have been posting are made by a gentleman named Chuck Pfarrer. He is a former US Navy SEAL who has over 68k followers on Twitter. He is just one of a range of sources I use to gather information. The conventional news media is just too slow when it comes to reporting this war, and it is absolutely necessary to use alternative sources to keep abreast of what is going on. Part of the problem (a good problem) is that the Ukrainian army is moving very quickly in consolidating gains during this blitzkrieg offensive, so keeping up is hard to do, which is why most of the maps on various websites are out of date. Chuck, however, is updating several times a day.

This has been astonishing, a surprise, a good one. I had anticipated the Russians having dug in defensive positions, impossible to break through without overwhelming force. It now seems like they didn't bother, maybe they just dismissed the notion of a counter-attack, maybe they assumed they were continually advancing so didn't need a defensive line or maybe they were just too poorly led and supplied to consider the issue.
The South could be more challenging, although now that Ukraine has quality weapons and has demonstrated an ability to use them the Russians are faced with a problem: where to keep the command and control and heavy artillery? Too far behind the front line and it will be ineffective, too close and it is within range of Ukranian missiles. Who would want to be a Russian general answering to Putin at the moment?

Not only abandoned weapons but more tellingly abandoned food rations show it was anything but an orderly retreat. A looming problem is where to put all the Rusian POWs. At least that shouldn't be a problem with the chechnyan mercenaries. They should be shot on sight. They'll all be in for a shock when they find out its not 72 virgins that await them but a 72 year old virgin.
Currently, the chatter is the Russians only had one defensive line and as soon as the Ukrainians broke through, all hell broke loose and the end result was a complete collapse and a panicked retreat. Many of the Russians stole civilian cloths and cars at gun point in an attempt to make a break for the border. The Ukrainians caught onto this and killed many of them with drones. The end result is thousands of Russians dead and thousand more captured.
It is really hard to get inside the brains of the Russians because nothing that they do or did makes much sense at all.
It is more challenging as the terrain is wide open with very few places to hide. I am hearing a few things that may be happening over in Kherson, but nothing is confirmed yet, but my hunch is that something big is going to happen in Kherson in the next couple of days. The Russians are cut off on the west side of the Dnieper River and are constantly being engaged by the Ukrainians. Eventually they are going to run out of ammunition and supplies.
Word has it that the Russians are negotiating with the Ukrainians to surrender with their gear intact. There is also speculation that the Russians may withdraw back to Kherson city itself due to the fact that they are out of artillery shells in the north. The line of thought being that they will be under the protection of artillery that is on the east side of the Dnieper therefore easier to resupply.

Any more on that purported Taganrog strike. This is quite big news, if true.
Firstly it is a Russian airbase inside Russia.
Secondly there was a news piece a few weeks ago that didn't seem important at the time that Russia had deployed its S-350 air defence system at Taganrog. This was supposed to be their top-of-the-line ground to air defence system. I'm keen to see how well it worked. Or didn't work.
Russia’s much-vaunted new S-350 Vityaz ground-based air defense system has made what seems to be its first appearance in the war in Ukraine, with evidence of deployment at an airbase less than 40 miles from the Ukrainian border. Introducing this medium-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) system to this particular facility is interesting, suggesting broader Russian concerns that Ukraine is increasingly in a position to attack bases beyond its borders. This would make some sense following the high-profile attack on Russia’s Saki Air Base in southern Crimea, as well as previous clandestine operations.
MSN
It has been confirmed by several sources, even the Russians have confirmed that there were explosions at the base. There will be more information posted tomorrow.
Being that none of their other ADA systems are able to stop HIMARS I doubt this system is any different.
