Russia has ‘strategically lost’ war, says UK defence chief, as Lavrov says Moscow unashamed | Ukraine | The Guardian

The head of the UK’s armed forces has said Russia has already “strategically lost” the war in Ukraine and is now a “more diminished power”.

Admiral Sir Tony Radakin said Russia was suffering heavy losses, running out of troops and advanced missiles and would never be able to take over all of Ukraine.

“This is a dreadful mistake by Russia. Russia will never take control of Ukraine,” Tony Radakin told PA Media in an interview published on Friday.

The country’s highest-ranking military officer said the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, had lost 25% of Russia’s land power for only “tiny” gains and it would emerge a “more diminished power” while strengthening Nato.

“Russia has strategically lost already. Nato is stronger, Finland and Sweden are looking to join,” he said.

Radakin said that while Putin may achieve “tactical successes” in the weeks to come, it had come at the expense of a quarter of his country’s army power for “tiny” gains and was running out of troops and hi-tech missiles.

“The Russian machine is grinding away, and it’s gaining a couple of – two, three, five – kilometres every day,” the admiral said.
“And Russia has vulnerabilities because it’s running out of people, it’s running out of hi-tech missiles.
“President Putin has used about 25% of his army’s power to gain a tiny amount of territory and 50,000 people either dead or injured. Russia is failing.”

Radakin’s claims echo British intelligence reports, the latest of which said some Russian battalion tactical groups (BTGs) – typically established at about 600 to 800 personnel – have only been able to muster as few as 30 soldiers.

Although Russia is achieving tactical success in the Donbas, these recent successes have come at “significant resource cost” and by concentrating force and fires on a single part of the overall campaign.

“Measured against Russia’s original plan, none of the strategic objectives have been achieved. In order for Russia to achieve any form of success will require continued huge investment of manpower and equipment, and is likely to take considerable further time,” a report read.

Already making excuses I see. Actually, this is a positive development. Of course Russia has always said it doesn't want to take over all of Ukraine- why would it?

Clown Zelensky needs to be reined in, and told he does not have an unlimited cheque book at our expense. Maybe sensible peace talks can follow.

Excellent doc by a Brit shows antifascist soccer hooligans who are going to fight on the eastern front. They had a good laugh at the BS denazification propaganda pushed by the Russians...

Pushilin's statements at SPIEF 2022....From IntelSlava

posted 5 hours ago by ashlanddog

    1. A referendum on the entry of the DPR into Russia will be held in the republic after the end of the NWO. The republic plans to become part of the Russian Federation as a separate subject of the federation
      .
    2. Due to the supply of Western weapons to Ukraine, the DPR army will not stop at the borders of the republic. However, the troops of the DPR are already involved in the Zaporozhye direction.

    3. There are no grounds for pardoning foreign mercenaries convicted in the DPR. There are no negotiations on their exchange. The deadline for appealing the death penalty is early July.

    4. Ukrainian prisoners of war who did not take part in hostilities will not be released. Their fate will be decided after the completion of the NWO. Quite logical, given the mobilization in Ukraine.

    5. All Russian cities must be liberated, including Odessa. Zelensky should be brought before an international tribunal.

    6. The hope was expressed for the completion of the NWO by the end of 2022. There are serious doubts that the war will end in 2022.

    7. It is still impossible to calculate the total amount of damage to the DPR from the actions of Ukraine. More than 1,500 houses need to be repaired in Mariupol alone."

Russian Defense Ministry sees as insufficient US explanations on biolabs in Ukraine

The question remained unanswered as to why the US and Ukraine keep quiet about cooperation in the military-biological sphere in international reporting under the Biological Weapons Convention, and why the US has been blocking the development of its verification mechanism since 2001, Igor Kirillov said.

    MOSCOW, June 16./TASS/.

"The Russian Defense Ministry has found insufficient the explanations provided by the United States on biological activities in Ukraine, since they do not give answers to a number of important questions, Chief of Russia’s Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Protection Troops Igor Kirillov told a briefing on Thursday.

"The ‘explanations’ provided by the US don’t have answers to the questions we posed - why was the work carried out by order of the Pentagon, and its subject matter was not consistent with actual problems of Ukrainian health care? What for did officers from the US military agency participate in biological research in Ukraine, while the work was carried out in secrecy with restricted access of Ukrainian specialists to information and premises?" Kirillov asked.

There are no answers either to the questions why strains of pathogenic microorganisms - potential biological weapons agents, and biomaterials of Ukrainian citizens were exported from Ukraine without clearly declared purposes. Why are the US officials, including Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland, so worried that that the results of the US Department of Defense activities in Ukraine and materials in the bio laboratories may get into the hands of Russian specialists?

In addition, the question remained unanswered as to why the US and Ukraine keep quiet about cooperation in the military-biological sphere in international reporting under the Biological Weapons Convention, and why the US has been blocking the development of its verification mechanism since 2001, Kirillov said. The briefing focused on the results of analysis of the documents regarding Washington’s military-biological activity in Ukraine."

I'm a bit late in on the Yacht discussion, but two things.

1/ Most Yachts require about 10% of their capital cost spent each year maintaining them
2/ There is an old expression. You can own a boat or stand under a cold shower ripping up $100 notes ... the results are the same.
you get cold and wet and chew through the money
Someone is sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago ...

    Interesting bit of scuttlebutt:-

In somewhat related news, Russia now claims to have destroyed 51 more Ukrainian manned fixed-wing aircraft than were in the Ukraine’s arsenal (according to Russia’s estimate) as of February 23rd. This is for the commenters who asked, “Where are all these planes (that Russia keeps shooting down, 1 or 2 or 3 every day) coming from?

According to Russian unofficial but reliable sources, they are coming primarily from Slovakia and Bulgaria. Remember all that talk of moving “donated” combat planes from eastern Europe into the Ukraine? Well, you didn’t hear any more about it….. but it looks to have happened.

It seems some of these former Warsaw Pact countries have donated essentially all of their remaining MiG-29’s, SU-25s, and whatever other combat aircraft to the Ukraine, presumably with the prospect of some compensation, perhaps coming out of “the $40 billion” from the U.S. Congress.

What’s funny is that besides old Soviet planes, these countries don’t really have any other combat aircraft in their air forces. Whereas Poland gave the Ukraine 200 old tanks that were lacking in maintenance and had been largely stripped of their electronics and optics systems (great for headlines, but for Poland it was junk)…..

….Little suck-up gimp countries like Slovakia and Bulgaria appear to have actually GIVEN AWAY THEIR ENTIRE AIR FORCES.

Now, they don’t have squat. I suppose they are expecting Uncle Sam to offload some used F-15’s or F-16’s on them, together with training and technical assistance guarantees. So much for “NATO countries pulling their own weight.

More stupid shit that only idiots like you would fall for. The reason why the numbers have not been adding up is because the Russians are liars who have been releasing bullshit numbers to cover their own massive losses.

So more utter horseshit from the Three Stooges then.

I would say so. So far I see only a pattern of defeats by the Russian army. Also, some very large counter-offensives are underway by the Ukrainians.

But you can continue swallowing your propaganda horseshit.

"our"? How much have you contributed? He certainly is a clown if he wants to defend his country instead of rolling over and letting Russia buttfuck Ukraine at will . . . kind of like you would roll over.

But it does emphasise just how hated the Russians are in the region and how much countries fear ever being ruled by Moscow again.

Aside from the fact that none of what is in that propaganda piece is true, you are right all the former Warsaw Pact nations despise Russia and are willing to do just about anything to see that nation weakened.

The average Joe on the street despises them. Of course, there's the odd revisionist here and there, but there are far too many scars that have been left from the past.

I think hatty has said similar too about his time in Prague. Reviled.

I lived on a military base twice in Germany. Once as a kid, the second time as a soldier. I will say that there is no chance that Russia will be able to take much more land. Their army has been proven to be degraded as the oligarchs have widdled away Russian wealth to build yachts that are now being seized. The tanks and vehicles rotted in storage yards.

Now they are taking what is left to try and wage war, and that is why they are getting ground to dust.

Unlike you, I don't know much about the military, but I can't imagine NATO is quivering in its boots as Russia is weakened further and further. Seeing some of Moscow's recent threats to London reminds me of this scene from Monty Python.
