They aren't more valuable...it is just that anyone that is in the public eye is vulnerable to nutters. It is one of the downsides to having a public profile.
Why does Mrs nobody need a gun in her handbag when she pops to the shops?
don't be silly. don't you realise that all brown skinned connivance store workers are under cover muslim radicals just waiting for the instruction to kill kill kill.

Boy, 3, fatally shoots himself with father's gun in US convenience store
South Carolina: The three-year-old was sitting on a stool behind the counter near the cash register while his father, the owner of a small convenience store in North Carolina, chatted with a customer on Sunday.
Suddenly a shot rang out, and the owner, Manal Abdelaziz, 56, turned and saw his son, also named Manal, lying on the floor.
Three-year-old Manal, who was nicknamed Cash, had found a 9mm handgun that was kept in the store for protection, and fatally shot himself.
"All we heard is something happening, and I look: Oh my God, my son is on the floor," Abdelaziz told a local television station, WMBF. He called 911.
Sad. Very, very sad . . . yet not incomprehensible at all.
Just another day in the good old us of a
The amount of logical fallacy, non sequitur, and hypocrisy in that post is frankly quite staggering.

That's a stupid comparison isn't it.
I think I can safely say no 3 year old child in Oz has ever accidentally killed him/her self with a motor vehicle.
How about guns are fitted with a lock of some kind so only the registered owner can operate them with the key in his/her pocket. (like cars)
You don't have to ban guns. Just treat them like the cars you keep trying to compare them to.
REGISTERED owners.
LICENSED owner/operators.
LOCKS.
Having loaded guns within reach of children and criminal offence instead of just another accident might be an idea. Losing your licence for accidental discharge would be good as well.
However I am all for a total ban on firearms without justified reasons for having one. Hunters licencentre and farmers licence on own land are reasonable. Special licence for vermin control and use on public land.
Absolutely.
And immediate confiscation if found in the possession of an unlicensed person or a person other than the registered owner.
How else will the government be able to take over the country.
Also after a year or so the cops will be a lot less jittery and stop shooting everyone who flinches.
Oh, they do . . . but we don't have many fuckwits owning guns - ergo sum = accidental gun deaths are virtually non-existentOriginally Posted by Mr Earl

This thread's about loss of life from guns in the U.S. and in relation to a story about yet another child senselessly dying you go off on some non sequitur, obfuscation, and apples cf. oranges tangent about motor vehicles.

You do, actually, by bringing the much-ridiculed cars 'argument' into a discussion about guns . . . thereby minimising deaths by gunshot.Originally Posted by Mr Earl
Why don't you care about children being blown apart by guns, earl? What do you do about it . . . equate guns to cars?
