I ride the bicycle everyday, is that ridiculous?

I only use the cars to move my elderly mom about, is that ridiculous?

I use the trucks to assist the bamboo growing enterprise, is that ridiculous?

You making a distinction between a toddler killed by firearm accident and a toddler killed in a motor vehicle accident is indeed; ridiculous.

Apparently life hasn't any value for you; you are a hypocrite, plain and simple.

It's hypocritical because you suggest that others forego the use of vehicles and that there should be a moratorium whilst you yourself have and use several.

    Earl,

As near as I can tell the only person who considers you to be the deep, out of the box, laterally thinking, convention defying voice of free thought that you like to self-promote yourself as is you.

In fact the prevailing opinion seems to be that you're a massive hypocrite and a piss-drinking crackpot and moron who spouts half-baked nonsense. And that's during the apparently increasingly infrequent bouts of your sobriety.

This thread and your entirely irrelevant and logically flawed attempts to divert the issue of gun control into an unrelated rant about motor vehicles and global warming is proof of that.

There's defying convention and then there's just dribbling nonsense. You dribble a lot of nonsense Earl.

    Earl,

When you continue to insist that you're the smartest person in the room when nobody else agrees and you can barely string together a coherent or rational sentence in your native tongue it goes beyond self-promotion and boasting.

It's delusional. Go to rehab Earl, it's past due.

An Anti-Obama Activist Fatally Shoots His Co-Organizer During A Drunken Argument Over Guns

A co-organizer of a right-wing march to “restore America” fatally shot his organizing partner and friend during a drunken dispute over a gun.

Raw Story reports that Paul Revere 2016 Final March To Restore America founder Vincent Smith shot Charles Carter in the head with a “spare gun,” after Carter pulled Smith’s main gun from his holster. U.S. Marshals ruled the incident as an act of self-defense. This information was provided by Bill Williamson, another right-wing associate, who tried to organize a 2 Million Bikers 2 DC rally at some point.

(FYI: These people are associated with the armed militia members who took over an Oregon wildlife refuge last week.)

The Paul Revere 2016 Final March To Restore America was designed to remove President Barack Obama and other politicians from office before the November elections. The march was to start on the West Coast and then continue to gather supporters who would eventually descend on Washington D.C. Another organizer resigned before this tragic incident took place.

The fatal shooting happened in Texas, which prohibits people from carrying guns while intoxicated. A right-wing colleague who knew both Smith and Carter said that the latter had violated one of the most important rules of firearm safety by mixing guns and booze.

^^well in Texas shooting liberals is OK too. It's sport.

Riding bicycles is also unsafe in Texas because drivers get a pass for running over cyclists.

Some severe mental health issues exist in the USA which aren't being addressed.

Those that buy into the NRA propaganda about mental health are obviously quite mental.

They were drunk - with you it would be a mental health issue. With them it was because they were drunk.

Yes, it does say so in the article's title

What percentage of spree killings by gun are committed by people with mental illness though?

The only reason I bring it up is that they are the ones that get the headlines.

So it's logical that proponents of gun control would bring up mental illness in this context.

Arguably all of them I supose.

There has to be something wrong with your head to decide to go around shooting as many people as you can whatever the underlying motivation.

'Tis, but it's also a red-herring that the NRA / NRA backed politicians throw out there to distract from the fact that a lack of gun control(s) is the issue.

It's sleight of hand: 'hey look over here and all these mentally ill people and don't notice how easily they're able to get their hands on guns! Why aren't we focusing on mental health'

Yet they still oppose any measures that might keep guns out of the hands of nutters.

    It's a funny old game.

I think what Earl's trying to say, in his roundabout way, is that if guns can't be banned then as part of the procedure all gun owner/operators must go through to obtain a licence, they should undergo a mental health check.
    Good idea Earl.
Then and only then will they be eligible to register a gun.
