Tony, you're so out of touch it's painful.

Why do you suppose they call Obama the Drone Ranger?

And MN has a reputation for good public schools and above average SAT scores.

Obviously you didn't make the cut...

Hmmm, so President Obama didn't end the war in Iraq where GW Bush sent thousands of young American men and women to die in an illegal war that cost the US some ~$4-6 trillion?

Did you even graduate high school Boontard?

Obscammer did not win a peace prize. He was given a piece of propaganda given by a corrupt committee to people at the forefront of creating a totalitarian state.

If was I given a chair that had once been given to Kissinger I would spit in those bastards eyes for offending me so much. A peace prize? Kissinger? Worthless. More shows how corrupt and malignant that piece of propaganda is.

Dunno who this "Obscammer" fellow is, but President Barack Obama did most definitely receive the 2009 Nobel Peace prize "for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."

President Obama is only the 4th US President to receive the Nobel Peace Price and is the first U.S. president to receive the award during his first year in office. Bravo Mr Obama!

Getting back on topic: "Clinton Says Nobel Peace Prize Is A Recognition of Obama's Vision "

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says she thinks President Barack Obama was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize because of "his attitude toward America's role in the world."

Heh Tony - Hillary once got in trouble for saying there should be a 2 state solution. Now she says the reverse whilst choking down her bile. Does that make her a sell out?

I'm not sure even dubya would have armed al qaeda to try and overthrow a secular regime that has the support of most of the population. Obama is indeed a war criminal, like Bush.
I suppose the US will have no problem getting around it's own sanctions for aiding and abetting a terrorist organisation.

Jing lor? Wasn't in you r I Love Hillary hand out?

1998 Hillary Clinton was First Lady, she was sharply criticized for saying that

it would be in the long-term interests of peace in the Middle East for there to be a state of Palestine, a functioning modern state on the same footing as other states.”

Then she went sucking up the AIPAC in NY for the votes (and contributions from te PACS) so she changed her stance.

"U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton rebuked the United Nations General Assembly's vote to recognize a Palestinian state, calling it an ‘unfortunate and counterproductive’ move"

Ahh Humbert - just more proof that you dem flag wavers are mindless drones with a very very poor memory.

I recall that in the late 90's that Israel, under the leadership of Prime Minister Barak, was openly discussing the possibility of a "2 state" solution. President Bill Clinton invested a lot of diplomatic effort towards negotiating a 2 state solution between the parties. It would make sense that the First Lady would support her husband on the issue.

The Oslo Accords officially divided Palestinian land into administrative divisions and created the framework a Palestinian state. Israel committed to the phased withdrawal of its forces from the Gaza Strip and West Bank and affirmed the Palestinian right to self rule within those areas through the creation of the Palestinian Authority.

Unfortunately, the violent Second Intifada Palestinian uprising in 2000 it became clear that the majority of Palestinians did not favor a 2 state solution.

There is also a lot of evidence that indicates that Yasser Arafat planned the Intifada.

The Oslo Accords are the closest Israel and the Palestinians ever came to negotiating a 2 state solution.

Since then support for a 2 state solution has eroded considerably amongst all parties. It does not surprise me at all that Hillary Clinton has changed her view on this issue. Israel offered the Palestinians a real shot at their own country with the Oslo Accords, but the Palestinians sabotaged the process with their Second Intifada.

Like Clinton, I sincerely believed at the time that a 2 state solution was possible, but after watching the Palestinians throw away their best chance at a country of their own I too have changed my stance on this issue.

He not only continued the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, he added a few more, and the whole Islamic world is more destabilized than ever. And what about his defence budget? Significantly higher than under Bush.

Um, unless I'm mistaken, didn't President Obama END the war in Iraq a few years ago already?

True, the NATO occupation of Afghanistan continues, but progress is being made towards a withdrawal of foreign troops. The NATO-led ISAF Forces will hand over command of all combat missions to Afghan forces by the middle of 2013. US troops should be out of Afghanistan next year.

“We achieved our central goal, or have come very close to achieving our central goal, which is to de-capacitate al-Qaeda, to dismantle them, to make sure that they can’t attack us again,” Obama added. “At the end of this conflict, we are going to be able to say that the sacrifices that were made by those men and women in uniform has brought about the goal that we sought.”

Is the defense budget larger under Obama than it was under GW Bush? I'd like to see some figures that support that as it doesn't seem credible, especially since we've been out of Iraq for 3 years now...

Ok, but the US embassy in Iraq maintains 17,000 staff. Plus about 10,000 military personnel elsewhere in the country.

Defence budget actually came down a little recently, but it peaked under Obama in the office.

I believe the "two state" solution of the time was, in fact, to make the Palestiniand "State" a collection of Bantustans (sp) with no control over their own water, borders, roads, etc. , not unlike the South African apartheid system of the American Indian Reservations. It was sold through the media as a generous offer for the Palestinains, who were painted as fools for refusing it.
