    This in particular shows first the claims, then raises the questions, then provides the answers - thus, in the case of "where did the government get DNA to match the hijackers with?"


    Forensic experts in New York say they have identified body parts of two of the 10 hijackers who flew planes into the World Trade Center on 11 September 2001.
    Ellen Borakove, a spokeswoman for the New York Medical Examiner's Office, said the identifications had been made using DNA samples provided by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
    The FBI had collected the DNA from tiny traces of skin on the steering wheels of vehicles hired by the hijackers and from hair samples recovered from their hotel rooms.
    Earlier this month, the FBI provided profiles of all 10 hijackers, including alleged ringleader Mohammad Atta, so their remains could be separated from those of victims.

    Nuclear DNA testing (along with dental records and fingerprints) of the remains from the victims aboard American Airline (AA) Flight 77 and within the Pentagon was useful for identifying 178 of the 183 victims. Five missing individuals (four within the Pentagon and one aboard the airplane) could not be identified due to lack of biological material from the crash. Five remaining nuclear STR profiles were obtained from the crash site that did not match any references for the victims. These profiles were thought to represent the terrorists aboard the flight. The 40 victims aboard the United Airline (UA) Flight 93 that crashed near Shanksville, PA, were also identified by nuclear DNA testing, dental records, and fingerprinting. To further test the hypothesis of maternal relatedness, AFDIL sequenced the HVI and HVII regions of mtDNA for these individuals. The sequences generated did match in HVI and HVII, which is consistent with a maternal relationship between the two men.

    I thought it was time to set the record straight on a website error that's gotten out of hand.

    I've been getting calls and e-mails for several years, all from folks who have seen my byline on a story (Plane Lands In Cleveland; Bomb Feared Aboard) about Flight 93, the plane that crashed in a Pennsylvania field on September 11, 2001.

    The story in question, an Associated Press bulletin, was posted on WCPO.com during the morning of September 11, 2001. The story stated that Flight 93 landed in Cleveland. This was not true.

    Once the AP issued a retraction a few minutes later, we removed the link.

    There were two problems:

    1)I only removed the link TO the story. We did not remove the story itself. This was my error probably due to the busy nature of the day - I was the only person updating the website until about noon that day, and things were crazier than they’d ever been.

    2) The byline was incorrect. In my haste, I pasted the “Reported by: 9News Staff” byline from a previous story, but this was actually an Associated Press story.

    Sometime in 2003 I received an e-mail inquiring about the story. I quickly removed the story, and wrote back to the person, thanking them for the heads up about the incorrect story.

    Things didn't stop there.

    Messages and phone calls started coming in about "Why did the government make me remove the story?" As is the nature of the net, folks had gotten a hold of the old story and posted it on their own blogs, fueling even more interest in the situation.

    So, for everyone who is still wondering about this story, here are some frequently asked questions. I'm hoping this clears everything up once and for all!


    FAQ

    1. Where did the original story come from?
    The story was an Associated Press bulletin that came across the news wires. Associated Press is a news service that many news organizations subscribe to for non-local news. The idea is that a local news organization can’t possibly have reporters everywhere in the world, so for that reason, we publish stories written by Associated Press journalists.

    2. So you didn’t report the story yourself?
    No, I work at the website in Cincinnati. I generally do not do any reporting out in the field. Also, I was not in Cleveland, nor does WCPO-TV have a Cleveland-based reporter. If you’re not familiar with the geography of Ohio, Cleveland is a good four hours away from us.

    There were two problems:

    1) I only removed the link TO the story. We did not remove the story itself. This was my error probably due to the busy nature of the day - I was the only person updating the website until about noon that day, and things were crazier than they’d ever been.

    2) The byline was incorrect. In my haste, I pasted the “Reported by: 9News Staff” byline from a previous story, but this was actually an Associated Press story.

    3. Why didn’t you remove the problem story page from the outset?

    Because it was in error.

    5. Why did you create this FAQ page? Isn’t that just fueling the fire?
    I’ve been getting a ton of phone calls and e-mails about this recently and answering everyone would make it hard for me to get my day job – running the website – accomplished. Also, unlike the old media paradigm, which is “ignore it and it’ll go away,” the Internet means a two-way conversation with our website users.     unique identities were generated from the remains of those killed in the attack on the Pentagon,

    SHANKSVILLE, Pa. - The coroner who handled victims' remains from terrorist hijacked Flight 93 that crashed here on Sept. 11, 2001, disputes a Pentagon report some unidentified body parts were cremated and dumped in a Virginia landfill.

    Somerset County Coroner Wallace Miller said only parts of two bodies were sent to government pathologists for DNA testing, and those remains were returned for burial at the crash site along with other unknown remains.

    "It is upsetting to me," said Miller. "I have no idea what they're talking about."

    Patrick White, president of the Families of Flight 93, joined Miller in rejecting the Pentagon report's reference to the Shanksville victims.
    He said all unidentified remains of the passengers and crew of the flight were buried at the site of the crash immediately afterwards.

    Coroner Miller, he added, had "complete care and custody of those remains from the first time he set foot on that crash site until we interred those remains."


    U.S. Sen. Pat Toomey, R-Pa., said he has sent a letter to Defense Secretary Leon E. Panetta asking him to "promptly clarify" the conflicting reports on the disposal of the unidentified remains of the Shanksville victims.

    Miller was among the very first to arrive after 10:06 on the magnificently sunny morning of September 11. He was stunned at how small the smoking crater looked, he says, "like someone took a scrap truck, dug a 10-foot ditch and dumped all this trash into it."     None of the passenger airliners allegedly flying into buildings or diving into the ground in Ohio on 9th September 2001 were involved in any crash.

    There is absolutely no evidence to support the claims that four planes were hijacked and used that way.

    No DNA from occupants of a plane could possibly be found in the Pentagon because;
    a) according to Bush, the plane "vapourised" (bullshit, because there was no plane)
    b) according to AA, there was no Flt 77 flying that day.

    Either way, no evidence exists that Arab hijacker DNA was found at the Pentagon fire site.

    The only assertion that there was any is in the old BBC link you gave,

    Search the web, you won't find any confirming report to support the theory that highjackers' DNA was found at the Pentagon fire site.

    It's a total impossibility.

    There is no conclusive forensic, pathology or DNA report on UA Flt 93, only contradictory statements made by various parties concerned.

    Similarly, WTC DNA evidence does not support the theory that Arab hijackers were responsible for the plane crashes and demolitions there.

    Again, search the web and present any reference to conclusive evidence to support that contention, if you can.

    I looked at that site earlier, watched the fabricated vids. and amplified sounds. Total clutching at straws and amateur misrepresentation.

    Compare that crap to all the other vids and audios along with firemen's (especially) accounts of the explosions and anybody will come to only one conclusion.
