Funnily enough, I was drinking with 2 school pals after I posted that and out of the blue one of them asks me if I remember the code to that building. I did, 27 years later. 1024.

I says, you mean this building, and showed him the last picture on my phone.

    It was a WTF moment.

    I didn’t explain myself.

Age is not kind to the physiology of exercise.

Did my 4km run on Sunday without doing a stretch beforehand since I have wondered for a long time if doing a stretch is really necessary so I thought I would put it to scientific analysis by not stretching for the first time ever.

I promptly got a cramp in my right calf at the 3km mark which was my first time in over 40 years of running to get a running cramp, and probably could count my lifetime cramps for any reason on one hand. I stopped and stretched it but too late to avoid injury.

I managed to limp the last 1km but 8 hours later I am still limping. I did not know that cramps had long-lasting injury symptoms. I thought they were things that just went away after a few minutes like footballers on TV.

^Sounds like a very bad charlie horse. I know exactly what you mean. If you don't warm up and stretch before doing jogging or any cardio you can be very sore the next day.
I stretch before and after exercising. I hope your cramp has gone now. I also find if you are sore, use a roller and it helps especially for post workout.

I'm quite busy these days working out five days a week and also on a strict food lifestyle. I'll see what I accomplish by summer in weight and strength/cardio.

It will fail again as always.

Follow a simple moderate food lifestyle. Burn more calories than you take in daily, and you're good to go.

Strict as in counting calories and being in a calorie deficit and working out. That's what I do, met a new group of friends at the gym and we are like having a blast with all the classes. Oh, tomorrow is power yoga, you should try it, Eddo, may actually match your avatar.

There is nothing unhealthy about a portion of breaded chicken (or iceberg lettuce. :-) ) when part of a healthy balanced diet.

If you're on about carbs, they are an important part of a healthy balanced diet.

20 lbs starved off by summer 40 lbs put on by New Year again?

I'd rather not, I know how most of the guys are on here.

I had looked into going on Saxenda which is like Ozempic, but the more I read about it, the more I don't want to chance the side effects. Saxenda also caused cancer in rats (colon).

From what I read, it blocks out the food noise, like for people that eat a lot or binge (no I don't purge, Edmond). I don't binge much compared to when I was younger. I can do it by myself, but it has to be a total mindset shift and it is hard for me to concentrate on this forum and doing what I am doing. I don't have a lot of time to spend posting.. I will check in again though to let you know my progress if curious. I'd like to lose about 50 lbs.

    Don't try to rush it.

That's 22kg+ which is a massive amount of weight to lose.

    From photos I gather you're around 5'5.

I started exercising daily with a healthy moderate diet around 2018-ish and lost around 10kg over 12-18 months in a healthy controlled way, around 85kg to 75kg (I'm 5'10+). Which was unfit and blubbery to 6 pack and the odd 10km in 60 minute running race.

22kg must be a massive % of your body weight, I presume you're looking at a time scale of 3-4 years?

There's also an Eat Nothing At All diet that gives massive results in weeks if not days!

You do eat, just a fraction of what you consumed before because you always feel full.

Becoming a Breatharian, or getting put in a gulag or concentration camp, are also recognised as effective weight loss methods.

*Side effects may include muscle loss, vitamin deficiencies and death.

Ya, same as Saxenda.. it is a GLP-1 that is what it does... there are a real risk of side effects though. Some of those drugs aren't covered and are expensive. If you read up on it, some people can get serious side effects that I'm not willing to chance. I'm afraid i'll be stuck on it for life and if I go off it, then what happens.

Seriously? No. I can do it in less than a year no doubt. 1-2 lbs a week is normal.

Normal for you is losing it the wrong way, then putting it all back on again + some, right?
