Okay, I didn't realize that. I wouldn't worry about your time so much, that'll get better the more you do it.

Sadly, I don't run at all. I started on the couch to 5 km program but at the end of the first week, I fucked my knee up in that I had to ice it for a week. So, I will not jog for awhile. I also have some hip/leg issues with sciatica and have to watch what I do. If I do too much, it flares up, if I sit around too much, it flares up.. so swimming, biking, yoga, and walking works for me.

    Good call.

Reminded me I've got around a dozen or so in the deep freeze. Indian bloke nearby that usually does rotis sometimes has them on his stall, chicken n potato. Buy him out and stick 'em all in the freezer 3 to a ziplock bag. Will go nicely with the beer sing later, cheers.

Fixed that for you and it's not even Friday yet!

Taking the youngest to the gym next week, gonna join for the Summer holidays and see how it goes.

I've not done the gym seriously since before lockdown and have lost about 5 kilos of upper body muscle which pisses me off a bit.

Well Well, I go away for awhile, and it seems that the only exercise Hal is getting is using his arm to drink beer!

Not surprised to see Eddie still working out, glad he's gotten back on track from his injury.

Joe - Get back at it, boyo! Get some free weights at home to work those muscles. Glad you are going back again.

I did a 30 km bike ride yesterday, been cross training doing mitts and pad work, biking, weight class, and swimming these days.

Got a great compliment from my super fit friend yesterday, when she said that my biking speed is faster than last year and the year before when trying to keep up with her on a racing bike.

^How's your running progress going, Eddie?

Just did a bike ride today. It has been super cold (15 C) and rainy for three to four days straight, but finally able to get out today.

Also did weights for biceps, triceps, shoulders, 10lbs / 3 sets. Pushups, planks and squats, and deadlifts.
    Tomorrow I do, back/chest/ core/abs.

I am in the best shape I have been in for a very long time. Been biking all summer.

    A lovely Friday threesome.

30 minutes mountain biking in the morning to loosen up and get some blood and air flowing.

1 hour jogging in the park - 8.7km

6 sets of biceps, upper abs, lats, lower abs.

Time for a few early pints with the gym boys, oh yes, feel the edorphins.

Yesterday was a rest day, and still have done 15 sessions this month and it's only the 13th.

Stayed in as it's a bit damp out.

8.4km in 60 minutes, which is just about acceptable as there was football + black label until 1am then up at 6:30am.

    rock n roll

A bit poor, to be honest.

I do 5km in around 37 minutes most mornings, which comes out as as an average of 8.1km/hr compared to your 8.4km/hr.

But then take into account that I have a few years on you, and I'm probably a couple of kg heavier... I think you should be doing much better.

    Just my two penn'orth...

Not too shabby after Ya Dong!

My aim is to beat 35 minutes for 5km before the end of the year.

Or is that a bit ambitious?

Doesn't that machine say heart rate 47 and incline 10, like he's been running downhill?

I've lost all interest in the gym in recent months. I'd been running 2 or 3 times a week for the last 20 years or so (either in the gym or outside), but I'm just bored.

I still get out for a good walk though and had a lovely little one last Sunday. About 10km we notched up in total with the challenges being some mighty fucking steep steps up to a couple of old castles.

    Lovely views too.

A castle on a hill with no steps. And how we ended up wishing there were.
