^ I'll take that as a compliment...
Had a funny turn this morning so I back on the main cardio ward. Quite strange I'm on a monitor and all of a sudden about 5 nurses and 2 doctors were at my bedside just like the movie's.
^ oh blimey, KT - I hope it's just something that'll pass quickly enough; best wishes, mate.
Very best wishes KT. There but for the grace of god and all that stuff.
I didn't know they were implantable. I wonder how it affects your driving ? Crikey, dude...
- Pacemaker → treats a heart that’s too slow
- Cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) → protects against dangerously fast, life-threatening rhythms
Pacemaker
A pacemaker is like a metronome for the heart.
- It monitors the heart rate
- If the heart beats too slowly or skips beats, it sends small electrical impulses to keep a normal rhythm
- Commonly used for bradycardia (slow heart rate) or heart block
- The impulses are gentle—you usually don’t feel them
Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD) ⚡
An ICD is more like an emergency responder.
- It constantly watches for dangerous fast rhythms (like ventricular tachycardia or ventricular fibrillation)
- If it detects one, it can:
- Deliver rapid pacing to interrupt it, or
- Give a strong shock to reset the heart
- Designed to prevent sudden cardiac death
- That shock can be uncomfortable or painful, but it can be lifesaving
Well as the lead member of the TD extreme medical experiment unit I just told the consultant I don't want the procedure.
He looked a bit shocked scribbled some notes and scuttled off.
Fair enough that you say that...it's your body, but I urge you to get opinions from a few more specialists. Then you can make a more informed choice.
What is actually going on in there, KT ? What evidence is there of abnormal rhythms, if any ?
I'm a bit worried by that, scribbling some notes, and will scuttle off to discuss the issue with the wife, FiL (who can't hear) and MiL (who is a paranoid schizo)... We all want you well, so, yes, it's your body and absolutely your choice, but doctor's sometimes/often(?) know what they're talking about. Before you make a final final decision - would you like a TD poll on the issue (you're unlikely to find a better set of general know-it-alls)?
Cycling should be banned!!!
From what I understand my heart isn't pushing enough blood so not enough oxygen leading to shortness of breath. They put stent's in but the other day we had a run away heart situation.Since then they have been far to serious no toffee has been offered. My issue is how can you assess someone's health when they won't let you walk more than 5 steps. As for a TD poll I vote for a pint of scrumpy and a pack of porky scratchings.
Fascists dress in black and go around telling people what to do, whereas priests... more drink!
Scrumpy and pork scratchings...![]()
No beer at the local restaurant, because tomorrow is voting day for those who can't make it in eight days time.

The wife trying to get involved in buying a new aircon...![]()
Is it possible to ban the wife from Facebook... maybe discreetly by doing something with the router?
I don't mind that she spends hours on it, but she just can't stop buying crap.
Yesterday a package arrived... a consignment of Russian sweets.
And they are revolting...
I wonder why? They were on special offer
And worst of all... we have Korat Chef in town that sells proper, English sweets.
^ Whichever one is the Singapore owned one has less rip offs.
Two women in the house doing that and TikTok - I'd struggle with that. You need a pack of dogs and some projects. I've heard there's a guy close to Burger King in KK who owns a dog sanctuary and will deliver you half a dozen puppies... He also is a master of random and complicated project ideas to keep you busy.
