It seems highly unlikely that Mao would get COVID and do anything other than 'nearly die'.

Was there a pic thread with daily fitbit updates that I missed?

I remember his saying that he was really sick, but don't recall him saying it was COVID....though at the time I suspected it was.

Just don't get into exercise too soon afterwards, no matter how well you feel.

Have a retired Army doctor friend living in Bangkok and he just told me …

70% of covid patients over age 60 will develope heart complications in the first year after onset of symptoms of the covid. The % goes up in those over 60 who have had covid more than once. The predominant symptoms are those of heart failure (shortness of breath, initially only with exertion, then later even at rest and especially if laying with head flat and no pillows). Arrhythmias can also occur, manifested by skipped heart beats and sometime embolic stroke.

So I like to keep recyclables separate but after a few times of saving up the crap and taking it to the nearby recycle place, I would get like 40 F'n baht. Cost me more in gas to take the shit. So I said Ok, I will still keep the glass/plastic separate and the cardboard and take it out to the end of the street. Now in fairness, I do not look closely at what's recyclable and what isn't and on the carboard I also put paper and other shit but still I make the effort. We have garbage pick up 2 days a week. Well I have been putting it out and have been for a few months and my wife gets random complaints that we are just throwing garbage out on the street. I was like WTF?. I package it up properly. So last week I tied it up nice, had the bag of plastic and glass etc and Bam another complaint so I go look at what they are bitching about and see shit all over. I was like...Ok.

So today I took out the garbage and had the cardboard in a big box and glass and plastic in a bag. This time I decided to watch the end of the street area as I watered. So I saw this guy walk to the area. I headed down and walked up and sure enough I caught the little fuk filtering through what he could sell and what he couldn't. I called the general at the house and said, get your ass down here. So she came out on her scooter(Thais seem to hate to walk 150 ft ) and I showed her what the guy was doing. Man o Man.... that poor guy. My wife tore him a new asshole and he sat there with this "Fuk Me" look on his face. All that for maybe Sow baht. I was laughing. She told him, "Look this is our garbage. If you want to take recyclables you need to take it all or don't take any. You can't open stuff up and toss it all over and leave it as we get blamed for it". So he put it all back and took it all.

I really do try and separate stuff. I get that 30 or 40 bht to some is a lot but you got to take it all.

    Rant over

The bladdy low class riff-raff putting bin bags out instead of bins.

Have separate bins with lids for taking out and leaving out them out. Tiz much nicer.

The fooker will not even fit through the door or down the stairs without the doors being removed, but I figured out how to do it.

Will be hard work to get it down the outside back stairs gently. Much easier to just chuck it down if it is to be trashed...

    Might make a youtube

That'll be a good way to get CFC gasses out of the way.

Early last year recycling stations appeared around our town - small roofed sheds with clearly marked bins for general waste, paper/cardboard, plastic, tin, glass.

Evidently this was far too complex a scheme for many as there were repeated efforts to clarify what each bin was for, then there was the matter of the 'independent recyclers' who ahead of the daily contractor truck collection would tip the bins over to get anything of recyclable value.

Plan B - next step each day a cleaner on her motorbike with bucket and broom would attend to re-pack the bins and clean the area.

Last month the idea was abandoned, recycling station removed and replaced by a sign warning of a 2000b fine for anyone dumping any rubbish at that site. Further along the road, bins for all waste whether recyclable or not, still cleared daily, but doesn't solve the problem of those 'independents'. and their messy habits.

Can't win. We continue to separate and bag recyclables for whoever gets it first.

Footnote: still on recycling, on Monday in Chonburi a female worker died attempting to clear a jammed paper recycling machine, police suspect she may have been overcome by the heat and fainted (how would they know that?) and was caught in the grinding mechanism. Only her lower legs remained by the time the machine was shut off.

Exactly what I do. The colored bins are readily available but the issue is that most do not use bins here. They use bags tied up and done. While the colored bins are nice in parks and such, for general mooban pick up they don't work. Too much work to lift etc. Easier in bags. I do use the recycled biodegradable bags.

Is it just me, it can't be as others were saying the same thing and its not just the odd instance.

I am finding some programmes, series or films almost unwatchable due to either poor sound quality/mumbled dialogue or scenes so dark you cannot see wtf is going on or both. I have been at times left fiddling with the remote like i'm playing Tekken tweaking the volume, brightness etc....

Been trying to book a simple return flight to Singapore. What a job. Thai airways site would not accept input of the dates, Singapore airlines had tosser flight times, unless I was prepare to pay treble the cheap option, and AirAsia site was just fucked.

Finally got the airasia tickets though a third party site, now trying to do online check in - on the AirAsia site which is still fucked.

It should not be this fucking difficult.

Yes, it stinks, but last time I got it right.

    From memory:

Wait for the pop up window and fill in return date there also.

Unbelieveable that they do not change that.

I needed more legroom for my airasia Bangkok to bali flight so I upgraded to a hot seat, turns out it's the seat in the middle of the plane next to the emergency door and when I requested a beer I got told CANNOT . Because if we have an incident you are responsible to open the door. Fuckers

    ^^^ Sorry BLD...

I laugh as very few ever survive a crash so who are you going to help when the fuselage is ripping apart? You should be pleasantly anesthetized when that thing is going down. Funny, they cut perks, add responsibility but the price is still the same. F them.
