It might well do, I don't know. I didn't mention paper straws. I am talking about reusable bamboo straws. A couple of HK friends carry their personal bamboo straws with them everywhere they go. I'm not sure how much that compensates for their V8 Merc and regular air travel though.

Personally, I can't remember when I last used a straw. As Paul said: when I became a man, I put away childish things. (1 Corinthians.)
Of course, I might get around to straws again if I reach Shakespeare's seventh age of man: second childishness and mere oblivion, Sans teeth, sans eyes, sans taste, sans everything.

Actually, the cutlery is some kind of cardboard.

If the energy is green then production "cost" isn't important. It's a combined approach that gives us chance... Currently, it's just rape, rape, rape...

I usually tell them I don't want straws but sometimes they don't ask me and sneak them into my bag. I just bin them when I get home.

^ Yeah, as do I but they often still sneak them in the bag... well, one of the bags. The wife seems to collect them out of a point of principle because they are free.

I'm not usually one to complain but we came down to the Dorset coast today and it's bladdy raining. Still, this brings back a lot of childhood memories... holidaying at seaside resorts in the pissing rain.

^ How much did you pay to park Mendy?

I'm glad of this downpour today, been ruddy muggy has hell here.

My moan was the rain stopped the Lancaster Bomber flyover at the Buxton carnival today.

I really wanted to snap it and screenshot the flightradar24 flight path for the plain spotting thread.

    A double edged sword...
    Shalom

That's a shame, that would have been excellent.

The pub has it's own car park out the back. I reckon I've saved at least £20 in parking today so effectively I'm drinking cider for free.

Four pints at £5.30 a pint. Not too bad, all things considering.

You lot are paying extortionate rates for parking and beer in the UK. It only cost 10 euro for all day parking in Cannes.

^ It's a long way to Cannes just to park a car. Imagine the walk back to the pub to enjoy his Dorset cider?

^^ You forgot extortionate accomodation rates as well.

I guess we could have gone to Canne but I wanted to give the daughter the authentic English beach holiday experience of sitting in the room playing Monopoly while it pisses down with rain outside.

I only spent 35 quid on beer yesterday.

Before spending 90 fucking quid on a curry!

^^ Thanks Mike, I think a day in Weymouth to visit the Sealife centre is in order this week. The next nice day will be spent fossil hunting at Lyme Regis.

We're both pretty much laid out today... must have caught some kind of nasty bug on the way over. Just had a walk around the harbour and now just want to lie down, completely knackered.

The pub doesn't have Sky but I can watch the cricket on my phone and maybe test out my theory that dry scumpy kills off all known stomach bugs. I'm just not up to the exertion of Monopoly today.

I recommend a visit to the Lyme Regis Brewery to perk yourself up and then a visit to Herbies shack for Fish & Chips

^ Not for the first time I wish the daughter had a driving license.

Fukk knows what this is but my left side is really painful, I'm aching all over and head's throbbing, I can barely move. I'm going to see if the bar will serve the daughter pints of cider to bring up to the room.

At least I can watch the cricket guilt-free, the daughter's pretty well wiped out as well.

Pretty much. I couldn't decide so I went for one of each!

I'm averaging 3 curries a week at the moment.
