Some railway themed news...

The beginnings of the new BTS skybridge will go from Mo Chit to the new station at Lat Phrao lntersection. Given that the line will straddle the intersection at 26 metres, there should be some nice views.

I have rented my Gaffer to my Mate at mates rates, my car sits in my drive way under cover and the Batteries go onto slow trickle charge. Also keeps a room for me as I'm back every 5 months for a giggle.

My other mate has 5 acres just outside Freo and lets me park my camper at his place.

Perth is my home and Thailand is just a big fooking laugh.

I'm here until i don't want to be and then I'm fookin off.

Hence why i love being here, that's because i can farrkkk off at any time.

No plans off going back to Perth full time though, boring as fuk if ya stay around too long.

They are Building a Mega terminal at Bangsue.

It'll cut a lot of congestion at the weekends when the chink & paki quality tourists & backpackers head for JJ market.

Being able to walk from Central Lat Phrao will be bloody useful. At the moment the traffic, potholed pavements and general filth make it a pain in the arse.

Not to mention the family of 5 black soi dogs that menace the corner of Vibavadi/Phahonyothin

I'm not that mad. Much like some people are into cars, bikes or boats, l like trains. Probably due to recieving a Hornby freight train set age 7.

I've had this Engle fridge for 30 fookin years, runs off 240 v Power, and 12 volt, fooking ripper, can freeze shit if i crank it down. I fill this up with Coopers Sparkling Ale and fook off touring. Love it.

These bikes are free to use. Solid rubber wheels, ABS hub brakes and built in wheel lock. And they're fast. The campus has dedicated bike lanes.

That's the thing Tez, it's not the BTS.

It's the SRT.

When it's up and running Bangkok is gonna 4 different elevated rail systems, all different companies and none really interchangable.

The BTS, SRT, Airport link and MRT purple line.

4 different major elevated rail systems in one city, that aren't actually connected to each other in any proper way.

You gotta laugh eh.

The purple line terminal at Tao Poon was deliberately built 1km away from Bang Sue blue line terminus to hinder simple interchange because at the time it was two different companies.

Since it was merged as BEM they had no choice but to extend the blue line up that steep slope to Tao Poon.

Same reason why the MRTA originally called Sukhumvit instead of Asok, ditto all Mrt/Bts/ARL interchanges. It confuses tourists, natives and illiterates.

Its a surprise that they will start the Spider card next year, one card that covers all rail lines and buses.

...indeed, starting the Spider card and using it for transport are two different things: the recent fiasco with untested automated bus fare machines leaps immediately to mind...no one's to blame for the significant amount of wasted tax payer funds, though, as those responsible aren't in office any longer...
