The blue toilet isn't colour coordinated. A light brown bucket would look better.

Saw this dead animal in the carpark at the end of the soi. Not a rat. Looked into it, it's a tree shrew, though not a shrew nor aborial.

New Year's Eve party at a home for disabled children and adults in Taunggyi city, (capital of Shan State).

This happy place is run by some catholic nuns, and it was my 4th visit to the place, this time to install my English learning software on their virus-ridden computers!

There are both physically and mentally-disabled people at this home, both young and very old. Many have had polio, so are in wheelchairs. Some are schizophrenic or have bad epilepsy, some are blind (and some are a combination of all of these disabilities). But everyone is always happy.

There were some visiting Christians from Chin State who all assumed that I was a priest of some sort, and insisted on calling me 'Father'.

I didn't tell them the truth

Checked out that Suan Lum night bazarr up Ratchada tonight. Last time I went it was quite late and everything was shut. So tonight we arrived at 7pm, and everything was about to shut. So just larked about with a dinosaur and met a muay Thai legend I know.

    Happy New Year

Drizzly and cold at Inle Lake. So I moved my travel plans one day forward and rode up to the hill-station town of Kalaw (I was there 3 weeks ago on a related mission).

Last time it was freezing fog. Today it is rain and low cloud, not good biking weather.

I found this Buddha guy trying to hide in the trees just outside of Kalaw.

This is a 1973 PIAGGIO VESPA 50 SPECIAL.

Not exactly the same, but very similar.

Jeez, if I saw that as I was driving along, I'd probably crash into the car in front!
