I remember that thread you did. I have a new big wall behind my house and thinking of doing something like that.
Lake Tahoe during a very dry summer.
On New Years Day the sinners who believe giving to the monks will make enough merit to get them a better after-life came out with their baskets of whatever, about a kilometer of them way down the road.
The Poo Yai Had a special area where they displayed their expensive gifts they probably need more merit than ordinary Chow Ban being bigger sinners.

The decrepid railway tracks that run from the old British hill-station of Kalaw (Shan State) and down to the town of Loikaw (Kayah State), both in the general vicinity of Inle Lake.
The tracks deteriorate considerably about halfway along the 198 Km.
After the midway small town of Pinlaung (altitude about 1,500 metres), I couldn't believe that trains still run on these lines! But they do (I've seen them). The 198 Km is covered in the time of exactly 12 hours, at an average speed of 14 kph.
I rode the small road between Kalaw and Pinlaung, and then up and over the hills and back to Naypyidaw. Bloody freezing at the high altitude.
Groping women when you're old is fine - everyone thinks you're senile
A bargain at 1100 baht or so I night, I got a discount on Booking.com. The hotel itself is over 80 years old, interesting owner who is usually about for a chat. While everything is on the old side, it is in good condition and works just fine. Central location is a massive bonus, it's also very quiet and certainly not a backpacker party gaff-perfect! Yeah, I still don't want to go back to bloody Mandalay- maybe I should convert to Islam, I'd be fired in days![]()
Mandy mate, don't waste your time and effort to contact your school with this information. I'll do it for you when I'm in school on Friday.....Yeah, I still don't want to go back to bloody Mandalay - maybe I should convert to Islam, I'd be fired in days
