Here's an overhead shot taken by helicopter shortly before the rig went under.

On its way down. The Heli Deck isn't supposed to sit vertical...

Of course when PTTEP had a rig fire recently we were inundated with comments about how incompetent PTTEP were and how they shouldn't be let near the oil industry.

So...which nationality are the dumbfucks today?

Thanks PH but believe me, there was no intent for patting my own back. As beauty is in the eye of the beholder, I was just pointing out what I liked about this particular photograph. I do like these little klong boats though. I priced one at 15,000 baht new. Decided against it as I have no klongs near the house and I'd be better off with a small ocean worthy fishing boat.

. . . and that is exactly what stands out.

Another thing I noticed is that it seems quite 'un-Thai' in a way. It is clean and tidy, not only physically but also serene in a way . . .

    Cool

last week a celebration for a successful farming year, began with monks, speeches, food and more food. Then off to the river for the annual men v women tug of war (women won, again), gamesm drinks - and mud throwing. This woman overdressed for the mud, but took it in good humour

and it was 'show him your missing teeth' time from two of the neighbourhood biys

It's been almost a week since any new posts on this thread. This one is from April 21st which is more than a week ago, but there's a good reason. I was in The Seychelles for 10 days, and you wanna hear the worst part? I was paid to be there. I'll start a thread on it in the next week. I have about 2,000 pics to go through.

This was on our domestic flight from Mahe to Desroches Island. There was quite a bit of rain that morning and these spot showers looked so beautiful from the air.

24km sth/east Kaew Chakan (18km from Sa Kaeo). mainly east i think.
after many false trails, following the road from KC, finally located the farm on google maps last weekend; nothing is named for miles and miles village-wise, but found a school and temple and worked from there.

Can tourists do that? I have a "friend" I would love to see lying underneath a hovering elephant foot.
