    ^ I have provided an easier and wholly correct translation of Bob's quoted law.

    It was as usual a poor translation from the Thai to English to begin with, which may be the reason Bob has misinterpreted it.

    Here's the final proof I was correct all along.

    As for unnatural death, the law stipulates that it shall be reported to the
    investigation officers for further legal proceeding. The physician or the medication treatment performer may issue death certifying document. The issue of death certificate does not mean an end of all legal proceeding regarding the death, but it is only an end as according to the Populace Registration Act B.E. 2534. Further proceeding will be required in the case of unnatural death.
    Regarding autopsy, the Por Wor Ror law section 150 stipulates 2 characteristics
    of the persons who are responsible for performing autopsy by classifying according to cases of death, as follows.
    1. Cases of general unnatural death: there are two parties of persons with
    responsibility of performing autopsy, namely, investigation officers and
    physicians.
    2. Cases of death resulting from action of state officials who cite having acted so
    in course of performing duty, or cases of death during custody of state
    officials, responsible persons for autopsy are of 4 groups namely,
    investigation officers, physicians, public prosecutor’s officers, and
    administrative officers of ranking of assistant district officer or higher. It is
    seen that physicians are involved in every case.

    Autopsy is a physician’s responsibility added into his/her profession of
    medication. The reason that physicians need to perform autopsy is its being enacted. The steps of autopsy are in fact steps of investigation. Physicians are responsible as a assistant autopsy officer, since the system of autopsy in Thailand is a “police system”.

    http://www.searo.who.int/LinkFiles/2...s-THAILAND.pdf

    The PDF shows how the procedure works in a simple diagram, demonstrating autopsy is not required for all unnatural deaths.

    Provide a translation from what?

    As I said. An accurate translation of what? If it is an inaccurate translation how then can any of the mistranslated words be considered a key word? The key words are in Thai, as Thai laws are written in Thai and the titles of Statutes and the volumes containing them are in Thai. As you claim to know so much about Thai law, although in practice you appear to know very little, tell us what the title of the "Thailand Procedural Criminal Code" is in Thai. What are the titles of the other statute books, the Criminal/Penal Code, the Civil and Commercial Code, and the Civil Procedure Code in Thai? What, in Thai, is the difference between the Criminal/Penal code and the Procedural Criminal Code? Please translate into correct English for us. What is section 146 of the Procedural Criminal Code in Thai and what is your translation of it?

    This section of that document has nothing whatsoever to do with what you said. It's also the same document I posted earlier which, if you'd actually bothered to read it rather than being your usual mendacious self shows that you are wrong.

    By the way;

    ^^^The final proof that you don't know the difference between an investigation and the prosecution of a criminal case, you mean.

    BTW Tud, you didn't answer this question;

    The complete document demonstrates I am wholly correct.

    Your continued perseverance in the face of factual evidence is admirable but misguided, as was your original erroneous interpretation of the law you quoted.

    The quoted law is Section 146 of The Thai Procedural Criminal Code. Where is your translation? There is a difference between doing a thing a claiming to have done a thing. You're a liar, Tud, it's been shown before on this forum and it's been shown again on this thread.

    BTW, I'm still waiting for your response to this.

    Irrelevant? The law in question is irrelevant to a discussion of that law? How does that work? You've also claimed to have provided an accurate translation of the relevant text. I'm only asking to see what it was you translated from and what it is you translated it to.

    Of course, this is what he always does when he's wrong. I don't believe for one moment that he'll ever admit he's in error. On the other hand it's no skin off my nose to chase him around the forum for a few days constantly repeating the questions he's incapable of answering. I suggest that those annoyed by repetition put this thread on ignore right now

    Wrong again Bob. They are the section 21 of the Populace Registration Act B.E. 2535 which stipulates that Thai citizens shall report of death as according to the registration system of the country’s populace registration, and the sections 149 and 150 of the code of law regarding procedure of considering criminal cases which apply to autopsy in cases of unnatural death.

    And that's darn tootin'.
