So, bitcoin is inviolablely protected against government, eh?

Bulgarian police have seized enough Bitcoins to pay off a fifth of the country's national debt after the value surged by 600% in half a year.
Officers are said to have confiscated hundreds of thousands of units of the virtual currency worth $500million from an organised crime gang in May, reported Daily Mail.
But the surging value of Bitcoin means that the haul of 213,519 is now worth a staggering $3.3billion.

^ this is where the next evolution of online interaction will happen

People need to be renting a vps which would host mirrored encrypted storage. VPN. Tor bridge etc to which their smartphone connects.

Though protecting against rubber hose cryptographic attacks will always be a problem

Did you read the thread or just the last page? I absolutely think its ridiculous. I was merely commenting on the concept of being able to buy fractals as being a cool feature for small investors

In fairness, their b class stock can be had for a hair under $200 a share and it tracks the same price movements

Sounds like you banked a tidy profit, congrats! I heard a quote somewhere the other week regarding investments that went something like, "one thing I never regretted was selling too early, its the late sells that will create sleepless nights."

The futures market may help to address some of the security concerns since you won't need to own the coins themselves...of course some will consider the entire idea of not having "possession" of the actual BTC to be a form of blasphemy.

Many don't have possession, leaving it care of the exchange which may be hacked or set up as a front to harvest foolish money and coins; either way, btc theft/fraud will probably increase exponentially.

Yeah that's a whole different issue. Not sure how anyone can justify leaving their coins in the hands of an exchange after all the hacking of late...

don't be silly, there is no underlying asset in that thing, a fucking crypto is not an asset, no asset, no fundamental value

it's vaporware, a tech hype, like announcing a new 3.0 software that does nothing more than 1.0 except cosmetic changes

Bitcoin always pulls back before it goes to the moon again. That's the game of the few who control this "asset".

Of course it's a ponzi scheme and anyone who didn't take all or at least some of their money off the table at the recent highs only have themselves to blame when the inevitable happens. It's just greed fueling this certainly not based on fundamentals.

He's not being silly. Recognition and regulation will pull in more punters, and thus fuel another spike, which is exactly what this pyramid needs: more new blood coming in.
It's a scam bigger than Ponzi ever imagined.

yes it's silly, once regulators realize this is an official scam, they will pull off the plug

Transfer in some money to a dodgy website along with scans of your ID's.
Lose it or make more back, that you might possibly be able to withdraw.

    What's to understand?

I'm giving me money in it 12-24k months, unless it crashes down to around 600-700k baht in which case I'll pull it. Will pull it at 10m baht if it goes 10 fold and buy a holiday condo along the beach with it. Will be that or a blanket on Tezza's balcony for Lulu.
