Do you ever say Same same etc

IN USA or Europe usually a wave of the digit towrds the 2 drinkers almost empty glasses sufficesto order a refill, but somehow here and often in an ironic manner with fellow expats I find myself slipping into the old cliche.

Do you find these phrases slip out unwittingly?

Talk like same-same or adding na to the end of sentences never slip out from me because I never use them in the first place. Still, it's always amusing to overhear *seasoned Expats* do their best to talk like a bargirl with a 3rd grade education .

I do not use that phrase but have recently caught myself talking in thainglish. I guess that comes from speaking to my Thai girlfriend too much, starting to pick up bad habits.

eher, eher, eher, a nice lazy way of saying yes. Most useful when I have to daily deal with the British public at work,as they inevitably will talk about the weather at the start of every transaction. Yes every customer will give Me a weather up date," It's raining" "Eher"

You can also say "duey gun" as well. Both get the point across.

Actually, there are a number of common, familiar, slangish, etc terms that convey "same same"....

เดียวกัน works just fine everyday, as you have stated.

Highly amused!. It's all fine and dandy for once a year visitors to talk bargirl pigeon English then go home and tell everyone they can speak Thai but when people who live in Thailand come forth with such nuggets as "me go pee-pee na" sort of gibberish to people who would understand "I have to go to the toilet" or "pom bai hong nam" it's hard not to be amused. Sometimes they take it to a whole new level by waiing shithouse cleaners with the tips of their fingers above their heads but that's a whole new amusing trait that even Thai's cringe at. Just saying.

"Muan derm" would be a closer approximation of "same same", if it's in the context described in the OP, i.e. asking for the same drink again.

Yeah, I guess there are and the advice I get is to not rely on transliteration when learning Thai: https://teakdoor.com/learn-thai-langu...-absolute.html (Thai language CD/book combi for absolute beginners?)
