^ Well he's been working on his flaws and has done what was asked of him, and has scored oodles of runs in state cricket, and is now continuing his good form for the A team. I think he will always have an unorthodox technique but some of the biggest run scorers have not been the prettiest of stroke players, and just learn to use what they have. He's been the highest run scorer in state cricket for some time, but CA don't seem to be in a hurry to pick him again......yet

Finally a comprehensive win for the unwashed.

Still got a long way to go but at least the captain can now get a good nights sleep.

It must be many months since he has had one.

One swallow doesn't make a summer,if we win the next test might be more optimistic for a win against H.M.P Australia.

    Here you go Cyrille

Ponting on ... Michael Clarke as vice-captain

It was true that I'd been a little disappointed with some of the things he'd done - or more accurately, hadn't done - as vice-captain, but I was now comfortable with the idea of him taking over.

It wasn't that he was disruptive or treacherous, and publicly he said all the right things, but he had never been one to get too involved in planning sessions or debriefs at the end of a day's play, or to volunteer to take on any of the captain's workload.

More than once, Tim Nielsen and I had encouraged him to take on more of a leadership role within the group, but when Pup was down on form or if he had a problem away from cricket, he'd go into his shell.

Ponting on ... Clarke’s commitment to team ethos

It never worried me if a bloke didn't want a drink in the dressing room, but I did wonder about blokes who didn't see the value in sticking around for a chat and a laugh and a post-mortem on the day's play.

This was the time when we could revel in our success, pick up the blokes who were struggling, and acknowledge the guys who were at the peak of their powers. Pup hardly bought into this tradition for a couple of years and the team noticed.

James Anderson really is a nasty coont. Imagine the carry on if an Aussie did the same....

James Anderson was let off on the Level 3 charge of pushing Ravindra Jadeja during the Trent Bridge Test, but he admitted to having continuously abused Jadeja, pushing him and acting in breach of the spirit of cricket. He also threatened to break Jadeja's teeth, the BCCI's counsel contended while appealing the sentence earlier handed to Jadeja by match referee David Boon. That sentence was successfully overturned during the hearing on Friday in Southampton.
The incident took place as the players were walking off for lunch on the second day of the Trent Bridge Test. Anderson had appealed for a catch at the wicket against Jadeja with the first ball of the over, after which he was seen having a word with Jadeja. Umpire Bruce Oxenford's witness statement said he intervened and asked Anderson to stop chirping. The chirping, though, continued. Anderson didn't contest the charge that he called Jadeja a "f***ing p**ck" and a "f***ing c**t".

What happened next, though, in the corridor leading to the dressing-rooms had two different versions. India contended that Anderson abused Jadeja once again, in reaction to which he half-turned, and was then allegedly pushed by Anderson. England claimed Anderson acted in self-defence as Jadeja allegedly turned aggressively at Anderson. However, Anderson didn't contest MS Dhoni's statement as witness that he abused Jadeja again, and asked him to return to the dressing room, This is also when he is said to have threatened to break Jadeja's teeth. Anderson was asked if he thought his actions were against the spirit of cricket. He said, "Yes."

Sounds very similar to Clarke telling Anderson in the last ashes tour that Johnson would 'break your fuckin' arm'.

Something that aussies went wild on about how whinging poms were complaining and couldn't take it and were trying to get the officials to take action on blah blah blah.

In fact it now seems certain that neither Anderson nor anyone else on the England side were in the least bit bothered.

India, on the other hand, have trying everything they can to make this storm in a teacup into something it isn't.

And what about match referee David Boon? Thank goodness the person who correctly decided this whole thing was a non event showed more balls than Boon did.

And you're now siding with the Indians on this whole sorry non event wally?

Dear oh dear, you really have hit some new lows over the last few months.

No, I'm not siding with the Indians. They targeted Anderson because they know what a hot head he is and knew he would retaliate. Their plan was to have him banned for the last of the test matches. Anderson took the bait and became the cock he is, but the Indians didn't come off looking good either..

Point is Anderson has serious anger management issues. The reason Clarke threatened to give him a brokin' fukin arm was because Jimmy had just threatened mild mannered George Bailey with physical violence and he was just doing his job as captain by dealing with the psycho pikey. Funny how Anderson had one of the best games in recent times in the last test - after he was reported and he just focused on playing the game instead of sledging. He is the biggest twat in the England team by far.

Lewis’s decision to dismiss the charges has angered India — whose captain MS Dhoni is understood to have accused Anderson of calling him a ‘fat ****’ when he was batting at Trent Bridge — even though charges against Jadeja were also dropped on appeal.
    Class act that Jimmy..

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued an official warning over the Trent Bridge pitch in England's first Test against India.
The surface was rated as poor by the ICC last month after the opening match of the nations' five-game series was drawn, with both teams finding wickets difficult to come by on a flat track that lacked pace.
After India had batted out the final day to ensure a draw, groundsman Steve Birks acknowledged his disappointment with the state of pitch.
And with the England and Wales Cricket Board and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club set to correct the surface in the near future, the ICC confirmed they issued a caution on Monday.

"The sanction takes into account the Nottingham venue's history of producing good quality international pitches, that the monitoring of the pitch preparation by the England and Wales Cricket Board before the Test was appropriate, and that there was a commitment by both the ECB and Nottinghamshire County Cricket Club to relay the pitch ahead of the next international cricket season," read an ICC statement.
"In reaching the verdict, the ICC observed that the pitch did not provide a fair contest between bat and ball throughout, and concluded that the pitch prepared for the match was of an unacceptable standard for Test cricket."
England and India are due to meet at Trent Bridge again on August 30 for the third one-day international in a five-match series.

Yes, well my point is that Australians are no worse than others when it comes to sledging - And of all current international players, Anderson is the worst. Why does it always involve him?? A lot is said about 'staying within the boundaries ' but Jimmy's constant physical threats - and even calling a champion like Dhoni a fat cnut is crossing the line IMHO. India's displeasure with the ICC ruling is just another example of them throwing their weight around. Dispicable behavior from them too. Reminds me of the way they threatened to jump on a plane and go home if Harby got banned during the Andrew Symonds / monkeygate affair ..
