Well perhaps that makes Kawaja your James Taylor: obviously talented competitors for a spot who have failed to make a solid case.

^ Kawaja was given a go a few years ago and did not perform well. He has since spent 3 years making oodles of runs in state cricket and has knocked the door down and earned his spot back in the team.
He just scored 174 on his recall ..... albeit, on a road of a pitch against some pretty average bowling..

Ah come one Bruce - what's your thoughts on today's play? Where's it all gone wrong??

Perhaps it's time to drop this nice guy routine and try to ruffle our feathers somehow?? A haka in the slips??

Kevin Pietersen hits another T20 ton in South Africa's Ram Slam

Pietersen hit three fours and two sixes in the last seven balls he facedKevin Pietersen smashed a second successive unbeaten hundred in South Africa's Ram Slam T20 event.
The 35-year-old ex-England batsman, who made his highest Twenty20 score with 115 not out from 66 balls on Wednesday, hit seven sixes in 100 from 45 balls.
It took Durban-based Dolphins to their 168 target as they beat the Knights by nine wickets with 20 balls to spare.
Pietersen will appear in two more games for the Dolphins before heading to Australia for the Big Bash League.
The South Africa-born batsman last played for England in the 2013-14 Ashes whitewash in Australia and was told in March that year that he was not part of England's future plans.

    ^ almost....

Some pretty dodgy umpiring and NZ being on the wrong end of the decisions.

The last wicket looked like his pads clipped together and made a noise ( you could see marks on hotspot) but even the 3rd umpire didn't seem to see that and the batsman was given out on snicko alone - though hot-spot did not show anything on the bat and the numpty 3rd umpy did not seem to notice the hot spots on the pads!

With Pup and Haddin gone we are actually quite a nice bunch of blokes now too - even Davey boy isn't punching people, etc., anymore ...

The poms favourite cricketer, but they only mention it when they are out of earshot,
Mr Warner is who i am talking about, has just smashed the kiwis for 200 runs.
1 for 363, Khawaja is on 120, all is well with the cosmos and i have some coopers stout
to accompany the pleasure of watching the fine batting.

England 102 - 1. A second day pitch that looks pretty benign

Any body see Mitchell Starc's spell yesterday?

Constantly bowling in the 150's and also joined the elite 160kmh club!

Searing pace and just a treat to watch.

    Well done Mitchell!
