Of course I'm Welsh and yes you are right, the team that represents England and Wales (although is known as England sadly) hasn't done very well, though I thought it was only a fourth loss.

Sometimes the climb to get to the top is just too hard to stay there and this proves that they will not earn the tag of greatness. Sadly it's the batsmen that are letting them down, but it was nice to see Trott bat well in SL. Still think we can win the series though.

That said, if you check the rankings they are still top.....for now.

Now up to 84; & that bloody Jauyhfjrvnvdfjhgbndjn zkj;gdgfvhjb kjnsfjb gf is likely to score another 300 runs before our batting collapse...

Anderson must be looking to change his nationality, play for a team with a consistent batting line-up!

    From TMS:
From Gary Jones, Market Harborough: "Sam, tried to send a text (which wasn't that funny to be honest) but the spellchecker on my blackberry didn't like the Sri Lankan top order names (apart from Jayawardene, which bizarrely it recognised as ok). If I accepted the suggested changes the top 5 for Sri Lanka would be Third-rate, Dilution, Sangria, Jayawardene, Samaritans."

    a mixed sort of day
not too many runs, 238 and 6 wickets
    a great innings by mahela(again)
    don't like the wicket
going to be trickey in the 4th innings
England needs to wrap up SL 1st innings quickly and post a score

^ and England ended around 150ish for 1. So, if cook and Trott can dig in tomorrow then we are set for a good test match. Can England score 300 tomorrow and get 200+ ahead? That might be enough?

I didn't see any today, but I might just watch all day tomorrow; a few cups of tea with some biscuits...

Fifties for Cook, Strauss, Trott and a hundred for Pieterson.

England's batting has clicked and they are in control of this one.

Yep, but a few more (50 or so; am I being greedy?) would have helped.

Watched all day today - SL will be struggling to save the match, obviously; I can't see how they could win it, but maybe they can eek out a draw, will need to score some runs though because I don't think they can bat out the 2 days; they need 300 tomorrow...

Rather disappointing today; started off okay, when they got to 150ish for 4 it was okay, but the last few hours have been rather tedious...

    Looks like a draw game.

2 late wickets from Swan might make it interesting tomorrow...

This should be a very interesting last day now.

Jayowefvknbd;lznbfdvknb cvnkxzb is out, the early breakthrough needed. SL 7 down and 50 runs ahead.

SL will be doing well to save this game from here.

Yes a nice victory for England and to break a worrying losing streak.

In fact I was a little worried that the team had hit the brick wall as a strong England team is good for world cricket.

^ The batsman have had problems against spin, much of it mental, but some technique worries too. When they play spin as Pieterson and Cook did in both innings this test then it's not too difficult. The bowlers have been consistently strong for a few years now.

Not much in it between the top 4 or 5 teams at test match level.
