England are destroying the Windies. It's just like the Ashes all over again.
Let's hope the Aussie team keeps improving; a third straight bye in the Ashes would demean the great series somewhat...

^ oh the memories, more than 10 years ago, keep living in the past...
Now, back to now, I'm not particularly pleased with the way this game is going; are we gonna get these 2 bloody WIs out sometime today???![]()
They'll over do it on the sausage rolls at lunch and we'll get them while they're thinking about having a nice little nap.Originally Posted by Bettyboo
^ I hope so, but this could be setting up a glorious collapse, and a shite winter of English cricket. If the WIs set us a target of 200 (which is possible the way these 2 are going), I could see one of our glorious collapses on the cards!
England at number 1, yes, but, well, we're not exactly the Windies in the 80s or bloody convicts in the 90s; I could see it all being derailed quite easily.
We should beat WIs in this series, maybe to zero, but the SAs will be much harder, I predict a draw.
Cycling should be banned!!!
Then it'll be an easy win for us.Originally Posted by Bettyboo
England require 191 in 2nd innings to win
Windies reaching 345 ao
1 for 1....and looks like clouds and rain tomorrow.
Could be trickier than expected for England....
It's going to be very tricky, my money would be on the West Indies at the moment, 50 runs in the first session without losing a wicket would settle the nerves.
Good test match scenario, it's why one day cricket is a total disinterest to me.
Broad's 11 might be the only consolation!
Don't you just love test cricket.Originally Posted by Marmite the Dog

Yes, Indeed I do..... I sit next to a cricket nut, we discuss a lot, but only Test matches, when he wants to talk one day cricket he gives up as my eyes glaze over and he can tell I'm not listening..... it's just shite in my view
We will see just how good the WI bowlers are; and we will see just how good, or not, the England batsmen are; less than 200 on a fine pitch, some swing, but it's not crazy stuff and our supposedly great swing bowlers could still not stop WI getting 350 or so, thus, we will see what the world's number 1 team are made of.
If they do not win from here, then I don't think they deserve to be called the world no.1. Trott, Peterson, Bell are supposed (and have shown regularly that they are) to be world class - let's see it today!
I reckon Peterson will buckle down and see us through.I love the SAs...
I was having a cow this morning seeing two wickets down, especially as the Beeb reported close of play at 300-odd for 9 last night - the wankers.
Still Strauss has done his part in this match, it's time for Trott and Cook to rediscover the consistency.
It would be nice if Pietersen and Bell don't even have to bat.
The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth
Half right; hope Cook sees us through.Originally Posted by harrybarracuda

Job done. On to Friday at Trent Bridge...
A good win, could have been a very nasty last day
English nicely in the groove again, Windies batting and 42/3 after 14ovs.
Basking in the sunshine, 63-4, I wonder if Chanderpaul can carry this innings.
from 136-6 to 239-6, Sammy and Samuels putting a decent total together. It seems to be a nice batting wicket, I wonder if Pietersen will take note.
