^ I fail to see why my collecting elephant manure should feature so heavily in a food thread...
Surely this is open to all nationalities not just Americans?
Anyway, thanks to Snubs thoughts I have jumped out of my comfort zone and gone 'of normal menu'...
Last night was sausages...
Proper sausages at that. With peas and cabbage!
And then today the strangest thing happened.
Very unusually for me, I just couldn't see the point of getting out of bed... endless jobs in sweltering humidity, blaring tv, Thai humans... so I just stayed in bed for the morning and finished my Jack Reacher book. Absolute bliss, and the first book I've read for several years.
Anyway, after a while the wife brought me up some breakfast in bed... Yeah, a shock, I must have overlooked donations for yet another funeral or something, but the food was good, nonetheless.
And a word to the wise... don't grind pepper on your breakfast when there's a fan blowing directly onto your face...
Anyway, after I'd washed my streaming eyes out, I remembered that I was saving the last of the bacon for a quiche tonight... but the bloody wife had stymied that plan, so what to do?
Salmon quiche - never before made and new to my comfort zone, Mr Snubs!
Farmed salmon of course, and probably barely better for you than the farmed pla nin you can buy locally, but what to do...
Peas and potatoes...
Quality food in Isaan...

Aside from the dodgy salmon quality, that quiche looks very nice. Good on you for spreading your wings, Mendy! It paid off!
Look, there are a lot of British things I like, cheese being probably the best one, with vintage cars and bikes a close second. I do like the humor as well, actually grew up watching Monty Python and Black Adder. I was really just speaking to a couple of wankers in this thread. It was mainly just banter.
Succulent pork, expertly seasoned and seared to achieve a perfect balance of tenderness and flavor. Accompanied by golden, hand-cut potatoes, twice-fried for an exquisite crisp, and a medley of heirloom beans, gently braised with garlic and fresh herbs.

Outstanding Armstrong. More crap college food. Living the dream.![]()
Respecto!
Point deducted for no gravy!
But according to Cy it is the Americans that eat ultra-processed food and not the Brits.
