Flyin' solo Friday night.

Recent talk of UK Chinese take aways rekindled memories of my personal favourite, sweet and sour pork. My first attempt at making this and is now added to the 'keep recipe handy' folder. Actually tasted authentic, which is always a win. This with a Hawaiin rice.

That looks so much better than the syrupy slop you often get served up in many a Chinese takeaway.

The sweet and sour pork balls from PJ O Brian's is decent. Proper British.

Cubed pork loin, battered and deep fried in batches, removed from wok then the onion and peppers are fried until just tender. The sweet and sour sauce is easy, with the ingredients mixed together cold, then added to the onion/pepper mix. The pork then gets returned to the wok and everything mixed together. I'd forgotten to put the pineapple in along with the onion/peppers, but was saved by the Hawaiin rice which had pineapple in it.

^^^^^Good effort PAG. My jar-sauce sweet and sour pork is not as good as the takeaways I remember but was imroved by adding some spicy Vietnamese hot sauce.


I scored some spicy pork for dinner tonight. A gracious invitation up the road to Bris from a Tiny Thai lady from Tak to partake of her home cooking. From right to left Massaman Curry with chicken and potato, Green Curry with chicken and snow peas, Phad Prik Moo with green beans

The Phad Prik Moo was the piece-of-resistance and got demolished in short order

I only realised how tiny she was when she went to the toilet sans platform slippers

Her 8 year-old son was in the bedroom of her apartment playing video games with the door open so I assumed this would be a platonic visit until she let me massage her unslippered feet at the table by way of thanks for the feed before suggesting we repair to the sofa by her sons drumkit and brought a blanket for us to snuggle under

Under the blanket she then proceeded to quietly undo my trousers and climb on the cock-a-doodle like a silent-ninja rodeo rider.

Her sons timing was perfect emerging from the bedroom just seconds after a blew my load into my hand after pulling out. Her scream at her son to get back in the bedroom could have been heard 4 blocks away.

Anyway, drama averted I was eternally grateful for this kindness as my courting conversion rate of late has been about as economical as Australia's bowling on Thursday

Deed and post-coital cuddles done she then suggested I stay over in the king bed she shares with her now slumbering son. This was a first for me but with her in the middle I just decided to go with flow

She then got the horn on again and dragged me onto the floor for another rodeo session 2 meters from her now snoring son as she was scared her flatmate would return and walk in on us in the lounge. All very surreal.

Bonus as I was leaving in the wee hours there was Maccas right outside her house. But when I rolled in they told me their computer had just gone down so no late-night special sauce for me.

I headed down the freeway back to the coast with a grumbling belly several hours after the feats but the Jesus-Jaag answered my pang-ful prayers at exit 40

Trip here to the wine country is winding down. Tonight grilled up a slab of ribs with a St Louis hand rub and corn on cob.

Agreed, my nearest was going out with a good catholic girl in Laaandan when i was 17, she was a twin and one night out with a group and her sister came on to me. Their mum was a fukin nutter where her daughters were concerned and she still thought they were both virgins at 18, they weren't.

Anyway I went round their place after and did the stone on the window thing, even though her and her sister shared the same room (space even back then in Laaandaaan was tight). I got let in and we went to the bathroom and got to it.

Things went pear shaped when i used her name siobhan, all hell broke loose as it was actually mary the identical twin i was going out with.

Its fukin hard trying to exit a bathroom let alone a house with two women trying to attack you, the mum woke up, i suppose that fact their older brother who was 23 was still out was a bonus. Ended the relationship and i had to move flats rapido.
