Ya know Hal, I can appreciate your POV. In my opinion there are 2 cuts of meat. There are cuts that no matter how you cook them, they are crap and need sauces, beans, mushy peas, etc to cover it up so one can enjoy it. Then there are cuts that a simple salt and pepper, cooked properly offer such an incredible taste and stand alone. Adding sauces is a crime as Snubs noted.

I guess it's the point of the BBQ as well, isn't it? The extra flavours the smoke gives.

As i said, it looks great (it always does), but I think I've only ever had steak smoked off a BBQ 3 or 4 times - and that was in the US - and most is cooked in a pan and often served with a sauce accompanying it in my experience.

I would eat Korean BBQ all the time when I was there (hanwoo beef- wow), but that was basically cooked on a hot plate and served with banchan and dipping sauces on the side. Lovely stuff too.

Did her mum use a plant pot to plate the rice up You seem to be on to something using your daughter to "temper" your culinary skills

I will, Digglers, i discovered ARLA have garlic soft cheese in Tesco, 109THB, garlicy with herbs or erbs coz the Mercans sided with froggie twats and they think they are being cultured pronouncing it wong.

^^^ Good God... nice leggings. Doesn't the wife mind?

We're eating a bit more healthily up in Isaan and last weekend the frozen whole tuna were on offer.

I had to chop it's tail off to get it in the convection oven...

Baked with a tomato and wad of lemon grass filling. My own recipe.

And served up with a baked spud, peas and HW's spinach with coconut cream and cream cheese dish, sans the coconut cream.

    Money...

They're all the rage at Old Trafford, the camouflage ones are particularly popular.

    ^^ That's too small to be a dog's dick.

I think it says a lot that he plays 'make believe' with a chipolata.

Cheers BLD. I enjoy the beer and moreover the variety they offer. The Dark is quite good and goes nice on a hot day, the Lager is perfect with Thai food. The White is a bit like a wheat beer so it can be enjoyed anytime. While I don't drink much IPA, BeerLao's IPA is good too. I keep a fridge full of a few of each at the pool bar.

That is not a bad looking meal Mendip, except way to much green on that plate. The only green on a plate should be green beans.
