Just walked in on the Mrs grating a cucumber. Can’t see the problem.

    ^ That cucumber looks great.

I very rarely cook spaghetti bolognese but when I do it's fantastic and I'd put it up against anyone's.

This was more like tagliatelle bolognese since I can't abide those thin spaghetti noodles. The thicker noodles are cheweyer and just better all round... imho of course...

I could just keep eating this until I explode.

But no... you've gotta stay healthy!

And you'd lose! Your problem is major, you're clearly cooking the pasta then putting it on a plate then putting the sauce on top. I use to make the same mistake, it's a huge no-no. Let YouTube guide you but the trick is to mix the sauce and pasta together with a little of the pasta water in a separate pan for a few minutes, then serve it. The pasta finishes cooking in the sauce and absorbs the flavours, trust me you need to look at this and give it a go because you'll never do it any other way again!

Couple of pics added, one's my own cooking and the other's off the net but there's no plain white (and boring/tasteless) pasta showing in either because of the method mentioned above.

I swear, half a dozen posters on the forum must have grown up with spaghetti from a can.

    With the alphabet in it.

Bladdy hell... I thought it was pretty good!

And there was a bit of Parmesan mixed in with the Cheddar so I guess that's just two and a half strikes... I'm still hanging in there.

I'm not doubting any of this and I'll definately give it a try next time... but I'm pretty sure that on the rare occasions I've had Spaghetti Bolognese in a restaurant the sauce has been dolloped onto the spaghetti... at least I've never noticed otherwise.

Calling bullshit on this one, fess-up mate it was 100% grated cheddar that's normally reserved for special occasions like putting on top of baked beans wasn't it

Change restaurants then. Here's a menu pic from our favourite local eye-tie joint, no dumping of pasta onto a plate straight out of the water going on there (or anywhere else decent).
