You certainly like your peas, Mendip. Frozen, I take it. In 5kg bags?

Mate, our entire fridge and all the counter tops are full of little plastic bowls of foul smelling, noxious looking sauces and liquids. Buggered if I can ever find anything to eat.

Sadly, I have to report that our pea planting has failed this year.

Kids haven't got their heads around watering just yet.

I chucked a few peas directly into the ground on the specie that they might take root and flourish.

Topper ... you're safe for the moment

My missus has given up asking me, "How was the food"?
Now all she says is, "I know, it'll make a turd!".

Ayam masak merah (Malaysian red curry with chicken).

Chicken fried separately first before adding to the sauce.

Some spices to get things started before the dried chilies, cumin and coriander make an appearance.

Two hours later and a big pan that'll last a few lunches and dinners over the coming days.

Have presented this here before...roast pumpkin soup. A TDer suggested I add either cumin or fennel seeds, was too lazy to look up who or the suggestion. Anyway I went cumin seeds and certainly made a positive difference. This was second meal yesterday, and will be today and tomorrow. Luckily the wife likes it as well.

Can never go wrong with a hearty pumpkin soup, BIP.
Next time, try a pinch or two of grated nutmeg and fennel seed - dependent on the variety of gourde, of course, as each one has it's own particular flavour and textural composition.

    Looking good!

I'm gonna do a beef rendang this week, which I'll post pics off, but the masak merah was my better half's work, so I've passed the nice comments on to her.
