TBF - and I don't often cut Thaimeme any slack at all - Stroller might have been describing ground pepper in his original description and taking it for granted that those of us who are adequately compensated members of the human race, who also have eyes, don't need it explaining that the vegetables on the side aren't scorching hot chilies.

I don't know any Thai who would consider going for such a dish anyway.

And isn't that Thaimeme's problem? A desperately sad creature who tries far too hard to fit in and just ends up looking silly.

You know where to send the reds again TM. I'll be waiting.

    Easily mused and baited....
As it's quite obvious that most don't know the difference as to what peppers and chilies are and their respective genetic families......or what you've conditioned to know.

Hence, the inquiry for Strolls - dumbbutts.
TD's own food experts [not] - continuing down the usual path of ignorance and tomfoolery.

Peppers & tomatoes, to resolve the mystery.

Tonight there's chillie in it, Tom Yam with red rice:

It's quite obvious that you don't either. Depending if you're using American or British English, the same fruit could be called either a pepper or chili.

But you'd know that of course....

Fairly big band that uses chili as the adjective in their name. Ends with Peppers.

Thanks top, you brought back this. Nice.

To be fair, as a homeowner/landowner (ok, not, the wife owns them) with family around - they eat food like that several times a day, so it's not out of place on this forum.

My wife can (and does) cook food on a par with the best Thai restaurants in London, Paris or New York, but she still eats that stuff more often than not, and she still stops the car in the middle of nowhere to pick twigs and plant looking stuff...
    Cycling should be banned!!!

    It's healthy, fresh food.
Of course it's not out of place on a Thai themed forum, why does it even need to be justified, unlike all the farang food.

Agreed it's not out of place on this forum, and I could post photos of what my girl and her family/friends eat while sitting on the floor as well. But being a 99.999% Farang member forum, I don't think it's as appealing to the Western palate as the typical dinners people share in this thread. However, without fail when I post Farang food cooked at home, that perpetual cock-head Jeff will red me with some idiotic comment along the lines of "why do you people eat shit like that, fuck off" in his never ending quest to convert all of us into twig eating - ghost fearing natives .

Can relate to this big time!. Mrs Worx like to come along as the designated golf buggy driver when we play certain local courses that have trees with fuck-knows-what growing on them that she likes to eat. She'll get a bag full of assorted roughage before the 18 holes are done

Yeah, they're funny like that - well, quite sensible really. One house I rented in Bkk had a nice garden and over about 3 years the missus had built a little herb garden from all these roadside snatches and also trips back to her hometown... One day, the grass was a bit long, so I got a couple of Burmese guys to strim it down, the missus was out, I think you can work out the rest of the story...

18 degrees in Thailand? Are you living in one of your bird's fridges?

I'm in the eye of the Korean summer. 35c today.
