I can tell you all after living here permanently for 3 years now, we are counting the days we head back east. Probably only another 5 or 6 and I just hope the west lasts that long for me to get the fuck out of here.

I think the most demoralising aspect is just seeing how many people around my area, which is middle of the road, seem to be doing precisely fuck all during the week. My wife and I have excuses to be at home to see this as we work some weekends and therefore have some weekdays off. I expect three of my neighbours, all renters, do not even seem to have jobs but yet are able to live in two bedroom flats at a rental value of over 2k per month. All they seem to do is order delivery food and piss about.

There are numerous other peeves and disappointments too depressing to mention.

I do not think a Reform government or any other government for that fact will or can change anything. The west is totally done for and at this point, each successive government is tasked with the job of merely making sure there isn't a flat line and a complete break down of society.

It is a very sad state of affairs I can assure you but at least we have an escape route; I feel deeply sorry for people who don't. What this place will be like in 20years is a thought I would rather not want to think about or ever taste the reality of.

It is a deeply contentious and divided place.
