    You wittering twat.
It wasn't me that said the Assad regime would fall within 3 weeks 'arryboy. So who's the twat?

80% of the country is Sunni.
90% of the Syrian armed forces officer corps are Alawite.
74% to be precise, and given your penchant for pulling figures out of your ass, do provide a link for your figures on the officers corp.

When are you gonna move to Idlib 'arry

You are a spiteful little idiot, and you have lost all credibility on this Forum.
This is why your posts are pointless. Whatever you post always ends up with an anti western pro russia / china bent. (ho hum surprise, surprise) Even in this little piece of self justification your bias shows through when you are refering to a regime headed by an hereditary dictator whose crimes against his own people are well documented as the President of Syria and the government as if to legitimise a violent murderous regime.
As to "A lot of people more prominent than I thought the same thing" is a non sequitur. You need to think a little more critically if you wish to claw back any semblance of credibility that you have lost long ago. While it would be incorrect to label you a shill, your pro dictator anti western stance combined with your total avoidance of any criticism of said dictators makes you the butt of jokes and regarded as the Tokyo Rose of TD. Someone who is listened to only as a source of amusement. Hence the invective aimed towards you. You cannot expect a well balanced logical argument in return when you do not offer the same. Either post with more objectivity and get more intellectual interaction or just keep posting the same and be the butt of jokes and derision your posts deserve. Your choice.

More than 35,000 dead ukrainian servicemen considered missing – leaked document

Russian sources have shared another secret document that was reportedly obtained by Russian hackers from the so-called from the Anarchist Kombatant group.

According to the leaked document from the Personnel Center of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that was sent to the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine the number of dead Ukrainian soldiers who were cognized as missing is 35,382 servicemen, as of November 30.

These are servicemen whose bodies were left on the battlefield. They were not taken home and buried. Their families will not receive any compensation because they were recognized as missing.

The annex to the letter contains a complete list of all dead but missing servicemen as of November 30, 2022. Most of them include servicemen of land forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 667 sheets with names, surnames and dates of birth. Then there are the Defense forces (546 sheets), amphibious assault troops (398), special operations forces (316) and representatives of the Navy (242 sheets).

The Kiev regime is trying its best in an attempt to hide the real losses of the AFU. Earlier, Ursula Von der Leyen let it slip that the total number of dead servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is about 100,000 people. Adviser to the office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak later assured that the number of dead was only about 10 thousand servicemen. In his turn, Zelensky reduced the number up to 8 thousand.

How interesting. This post #2416 is an Opinion piece, yet is considered Ok in the News thread:-

Putin’s recruits are heading for slaughter

Retired Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling commanded the 1st Armored Division during the Iraq surge and later commanded U.S. Army Europe.
Yet the Post above (moved from News) is not considered worthy- but it is not an opinion piece. This forum is becoming selectively modified. If you want to make it an "America, Fuck Yeh" forum- then kindly change the name and make the rules clear.

I am ready for this whole thread to go to the doghouse. I have no umph left in me and no one else seems to give a shit.

The thread is what it is not supposed to be. Full name calling, news articles, blogs, and opinion pieces. It is supposed to be a place for posters to put their own opinions, not the opinions of bloggers or whoever. News articles are not supposed to be posted here either. I am as guilty as anyone.

No, it was me, and it would have fallen if it hadn't enlisted the help of another bloodthirsty war criminal.

The same war criminal that's been committing atrocities in Ukraine.

    I totally agree.

And if Putin hadn't become involved, they never would have.

That's what you're too stupid to understand.

The rise of IS in Syria is on Putin's hands, the same way the rise of it in Iraq was on Bush's (well in his case, the money-grubbing wankers that surrounded him).

The ability to speak coherently on the Middle East and Ukraine is beyond someone like you that swallows propaganda bullshit all the time.

It's why you post witless nonsense like this:

So since when did this War on Terror involve allying with these vile Islamic extremists like Al Qaeda and ISIL against a secular government, and a nation that freely practises several religions, including Christianity?
The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth

Wouldn't hurt to chuck it the DH as long as you leave it there.

It's a good outlet for idiots like sabang to spout bollocks and everyone else to rip the piss out of him.

You live in a delusional fantasy world. I haven't taken any kind of drubbing by anyone, especially not from you. No one on this forum has been made a bigger fool of in this thread than you. You have been utterly humiliated time and time again. Most recently, when Pickle exposed you for posting fake news propaganda, which you do constantly. Your posts are nothing more than a complete joke, and you have 0 credibility. Just above is a post you made from south front, a Russian propaganda site. You are a clown and nothing more.

Although off topic, I will say The US and allies have a poor track record when it comes to post war reconstruction and governance outside of previously democratic countries. It is probably fair to say a western style democratic government cannot just be transplanted to every culture and religion especially after long periods of dictatorships and non democratic rule. Russia was a case in point. Anybody who thinks removing Xi and the CCP and installing a U.S. style democracy wouldn't be an unmitigated disaster is IMO kidding themselves. Transition to democracy is and needs to be a long incremental process with much help from the west.

Just want to post these few sentences translated from a German news article. It shows that Putler was on a dark path way before the war. Any idiot who claims that we did not pamper his ass should talk to Merkel, Schroeder or SPD Kraut politicians. Putler attacked and killed in Germany/Europe long before this war has started.

A few days ago, Merkel uttered a remarkable sentence in an interview with "Die Zeit": "We too should have reacted more quickly to Russia's aggressiveness." It is the most critical sentence to date about her own policy. Merkel saw this aggressiveness very well. Towards the end of her term in May 2020, she clearly showed her anger and frustration in the Bundestag. She spoke of Russia's "hybrid warfare strategy," which included "cyber disorientation" and "fact distortion."

She called the cyber attack on the Bundestag, which she herself was affected by, "outrageous" and mentioned the Tiergarten murder by a Russian secret agent. And she made it clear that she was concerned about Russia's behavior, and thus Putin's. "I can say very honestly: it hurts me." After all, she strives "every day for a better relationship with Russia". She spoke of an area of tension in which she moves that stems from "the desire for good relations with Russia". It's something "that even I can't completely erase from my heart".

Why is it a mistake to engage in discussions, help raise the standard of living of those around you and generally be inclusive?

Most places do well under this practice as the better a populace is off the less likely they will go either directional extremes.

I would be happy if they keep their own military in good shape. Scratch that....I mean working shape.
Speaking of tanks, I think Germany needs to buy back tanks from the Ukraine.
And if they need ammunition they need to raid some clan/gang bars in Berlin.

    Dearest Misskit,
I understand your exasperation and current lack of umph. It can happen to the best of us. Perhaps you could delegate some of your workload or perhaps a break or rest is necessary. I wish you well. But to your points; in order to change the things you mentioned here are my thoughts. I don’t expect to see any of them implemented (it’s been discussed several times here already and nothing changed) but here goes anyway.

Unwritten “Rules” – and some that that appear out of nowhere. I have been a member of TD for 11 years and not once have I seen anybody mention that news articles are not meant to be posted in Speakers. When did that rule come in? I suggest any rules you want posters to abide by, or guidelines you want members to follow, are written and left somewhere accessible for all members, old and new.

Name calling. That’s really easy to fix. Instruct mods to delete ALL posts with name calling in. Don’t forget to include this rule to the written rule/guideline list.
Another option to drastically reduce name calling would be to follow the Pareto Principle known as the "80/20" rule: “for many events, roughly 80% of effects come from 20% of the causes.” So to rid TD of 80% of the name calling, simply ban the two biggest culprits (harrybarracuda and Seekingasylum) from Speakers/news/wherever you don’t want name calling.

Mods: Insufficient mods, poorly trained or poorly instructed mods, conflicted mods, or lazy mods. Fixing any of those mod issues is simple enough. There’s no need for me to add anything else.

As for this thread, perhaps the Lounge would be better than Speakers at this stage in the thread's life.

    Your humble poster,
Neville Everard Rupert Norman Asquith (the third).
