The Ukrainians instead moved their best troops North to the Donbass. After the fall of Lyman, there will be further advances into Luhansk and Donetsk oblasts. The total collapse of Luhansk is very possible at this point.

From a logistics standpoint it is all in Ukraine's favor as they will be able to reequip and resupply via rail all the way to Lyman from as far away as the Polish border.
