David Stockman is not a Russian shill. He is a former US Congressman and was one of Reagan's most trusted aides.

Stockman is an utter buffoon like you are. The narrative you and him continue to push has been debunked by the Washington Post and is utter drivel at this point.

Another one of your idiotic predictions. Putin is having his ass handed to him on a plate.

Do fuck off with your utter drivel. You have been repeating it ad nauseam since before the war. It was wrong then and it is wrong now. All this crap needs to be doghoused.

In fact no, because it is now apparent that for the last two decades Putin has said anything necessary to achieve the single goal of pushing Russia's border up to the Carpathian mountains to narrow down his western front and to secure control of the Black Sea ports. Consuming Ukraine, Maldova and eventually Belarus to create his dream of the new fortress Russia. It was a long game, building up record foreign reserves by selling Europe gas that he could in the end play threaten to shut off, taking Crimea and essentially getting away with it.

After Crimea it should have been evident to anyone that Putin was happy to ignore Russia's commitment to the Budapest Memorandum and any other piece of paper. He would sign a 'settlement' then break it without a moment's hesitation. Remember the Munich Agreement of 1938, "Peace for our time"? Stockman is simply wrong to suggest that appeasing Putin would have been a good idea.

Here we go again, trying to blame everyone else for Putin invading a sovereign nation.

Okay: Putin has clearly stated that because Russia was not a party to the Minsk agreements therefore Russia is not in any way constrained by them.

They never involved Russia though, did they? They were between the DPR/LPR ('breakaway Republics') and UKR, and supposedly brokered by the EU, with two EU states as guarantor. UKR never intended to honour them from the outset, as became obvious.

You seem one of the brighter ones Shu, at least compared to the usual dregs that inhabit/inhibit this thread. This may just be of interest to you, and others of ilk:-

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba lashed out at his Russian counterpart in the United Nations security council.

"The amount of lies coming from the Russian diplomats is quite extraordinary, Kuleba told the council. "The only thing in today's address by Russia in this torrent of lies worthy of reaction is the inappropriate slang used when mentioning a president of a foreign country, the president of Ukraine."

Kuleba's comments followed Sergey Lavrov's comments in which called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy a slur.

Kuleba then mentioned Lavrov's quick departure from the chamber.
"I also noted today that Russian diplomats flee almost as aptly as Russian soldiers," Kuleba said.

In case anybody was wondering if the Russians were going to take the time to properly outfit and train the newly mobilized troops-

    Probably not:

I'll see what I can find out about that, but I read that the called-up Reserves were not expected to get to the conflict zone for another month or so.

Doesn't matter. They won't last long once they get there. Cannon fodder that will become fertilizer.

It is fuckin sad that Russia has sent soldiers in so ill prepared. Then ready to send more the same way.

It seems right to mention that most of the men they are calling up now are from far-flung non-white areas of Russia. Would be a bit of good to see Muscovites offered up in the same fashion.

I can’t find the article which showed Asian men being bussed just yesterday from Buryatia but there is this old item.

Putin accused of using troops from ethnic minority backgrounds as cannon fodder in Russia-Ukraine war

But, I suppose Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu's statement does beg the question, just what will the 300,000 be doing on the Motherlands soil?

Surely Sergei Shoigu doesn't include the Donbas and Crimea region as the 'territory of the Russian Federation'? This is great news from Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu (who) said on Russian television Wednesday morning ...
