The war has been waging since the "allies" reneged on Russia. The west has "promised" many things since 1943, but as usual failed to honour them.

You may wish to have a read of this book:

As usual, you are spewing idiocy and have no idea what you are talking about. If it was not for the US lend-lease program, the Germans would have steamrolled Russia and turned it into a parking lot. Interestingly enough it is the same program the US is using to arm Ukraine to defeat the Russians today.

You are just as much of an idiot as you always have been.

The then CIC/POTUS realised that Russia would take all of Europe. NaGastan and Britain would be ignored.

Stalin made demands, military and financially, to which the "allies" accepted.

All contained in this book, by a certain relative of the CIC:

Thanks for the link, I learnt something.

As for my 'ignorance' ... not my country of birth and a generation before I was born.

I don't understand your aggression on this. I'm very comfortable to ask about something I don't know about.

Better to be 'ignorant' than an 'ignominious' who claims to know everything (not implying you are).

Care to comment on the book I suggest you read? I presume you studied it in depth during the compulsory NaGastan History course at school.

Eisenhower is my favorite American president and General. I know a great deal about him, and I would confidently say it is far more than you. You live in a fantasy world and are a waste of space. You apparently had no idea that the US saved Russia's ass in WW2 through lend-lease.

Personally, I wish that the US would have let Patton do as he wished and drive his armies to Moscow at the end of WW2. We could have finished them once and for all before they had nukes. Hindsight is 20/20.

No, much better to win the Peace than lose the War. Not sure if Sun Tzu said that, but it was obviously aimed at amerka.

The two Ukrainian regions declared themselves void of Ukraine and independent sovereign countries.

The Donetsk People's Republic is one of two breakaway states in Donbas region of eastern Ukraine, the other being the Luhansk People's Republic (LPR). Since 2014, DPR forces have been fighting against the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Donbas War, and has received political and military backing from Russia. The capital city and largest city within the DPR is Donetsk. Denis Pushilin has served as the DPR head of state since 2018.[7][8"

The countries and Russia signed defence agreements 15/02/2022.

"Russia recognised the DPR on 21 February 2022. On that day, Russian President Vladimir Putin also signed agreements on friendship, cooperation, and assistance with Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics.[125] The Russian State Duma had approved a draft resolution appealing for him to recognise both on 15 February.[126]

Before that, Russia had recognised identity documents, diplomas, birth and marriage certificates and vehicle registration plates as issued by the DPR and the LPR since 18 February 2017.[15] The decision enabled people living in DPR controlled territories to travel, work or study in Russia.[15]

According to the decree, it was signed "to protect human rights and freedoms" in accordance with "the widely recognised principles of international humanitarian law".[127]

The DPR has cultivated relations with European far-right and nationalist politicians and writers, including French far-right MEP Jean-Luc Schaffhauser, Italian nationalist Alessandro Musolino, German neo-Nazi journalist Manuel Ochsenreiter, and Emmanuel Leroy, a far-right adviser to Marine Le Pen, leader of the National Front.[128][129]

Because of Ukrainian attacks on the now sovereign countries, they requested assistance from Russia.

Try reading sources outside your small, less than 17% of the world's citizens, "fact checked" world.

Russia obliged and continues to support them.

As Ukraine government is waging war with the new countries, Russia efforts to support their treaty partners, targets it's military.

Other countries have done similar moves and been acknowledged by some other countries, Kosovo is one example.

    Kosovo War

"The Kosovo War was an armed conflict in Kosovo[a] that started 28 February 1998[46][47] and lasted until 11 June 1999.[48] It was fought by the forces of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (i.e. Serbia and Montenegro), which controlled Kosovo before the war, and the Kosovo Albanian rebel group known as the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA). The conflict ended when the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) intervened by beginning air strikes in March 1999 which resulted in Yugoslav forces withdrawing from Kosovo."

    International recognition of Kosovo

"International recognition of Kosovo, since its declaration of independence from Serbia enacted on 17 February 2008, has been mixed, and international governments are divided on the issue.[1][2]
As of 4 September 2020, 97 out of 193 (50.26%) United Nations member states, 22 out of 27 (81.48%) European Union member states, 26 out of 30 (86.67%) NATO member states, and 31 out of 57 (54.39%) Organisation of Islamic Cooperation member states have recognised Kosovo. The government of Serbia does not recognise it as a sovereign state.[3]"

    Which 'sovereign countries' are they?

More like Russia attacks the Ukrainian Crimea and tries to annex it as their own.

Except as we all know, Russia did not attack Crimea. Strange how this 'megathread' is full of war porn, yet nobody can show any war porn from this mythical Russian attack on Crimea. Hadn't cameras & satellite surveillance been invented in 2014?

    Published 16 March 2014

"Some 95.5% of voters in Crimea have supported joining Russia, officials say, after half the votes have been counted in a disputed referendum.

Crimea's leader says he will apply to join Russia on Monday. Russia's Vladimir Putin has said he will respect the Crimean people's wishes.

Many Crimeans loyal to Kiev boycotted the referendum, and the EU and US condemned it as illegal.

    From the video below...

Russia has invaded the Crimean peninsula of Ukraine and taken over its civilian and military infrastructure. Not a shot has been fired so far, but Russia is using its superior force to intimidate Ukrainian troops in an attempt to get them to surrender. Russia claims it wants to stabilize the situation on the peninsula, which has a large Russian population, but Ukraine's new government regards the move as an occupation of its sovereign territory.

This clip shows how the US got the then pending Russian invasion correct. The one Sabwang said would never happen. The US knew what Russia was doing when it invaded Crimea in 2014 and did not want to repeat its mistakes, so it disclosed all the classified info it had on the pending Russian invasion, and it turned out to be accurate. Much to some bozo's (like Sabang) surprise, who bleated on and on about how the Biden admin was lying, and the war would never happen.

Didn't want violent neo-Nazis disrupting the (peaceful) Referendum, or staging another Maidan revolution. Show me the piles of dead bodies, the fleeing refugees, the shattered buildings, the destroyed tanks etc. None. It is absolute bullshit that Russia 'invaded' Crimea.

So I will show you this instead-

Game over. I wonder how the Referendum results will turn out for DPR/ LPR & Kherson?
