Russia doesn’t reveal locations where Ukrainian POWs are held

A new legal framework is being developed to allow creating an adequate system that would reflect the reality of dealing with Russian prisoners of war whose number is soaring due to Ukraine’s successful combat operations.
This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk, who also leads the Coordination Headquarters for POW Treatment, Ukrinform reports citing the press service of the Reintegration Ministry.

“We are not as prepared as we’d like to be, but we’ll address the issue swiftly. As of today, Russia remains silent and provides no information on the location where they hold POWs. In our turn, we have allowed the Red Cross to visit those we have captured. They are being interviewed, they are being treated properly, that is, in line with the Geneva Conventions. Russia, is, of course, violating these norms,” said Vice PM.

According to Vereshchuk, Russian prisoners of war are held in normal conditions in special cells. What is most surprising is that these so-called ‘professional soldiers’ are virtually young men, born in 2002 and 2003. Putin and Shoigu sent them to be slaughtered. “I would like to address mothers in Russia. You think that your children were deployed for a drill that will end soon in Belarus or Crimea. In fact, they are being held captive here. And these are not officers – these are young conscripts. And this is also a crime. One can’t send children to their certain death. They didn’t know even half of what they were doing and committing. All these crimes will become the core of the tribunals to be launched against those who had ordered children from Russia to come here and kill Ukrainian citizens, women and children,” the Reintegration Minister said, expressing her position.

As reported, Russian President Putin declared war on Ukraine on February 24 and launched a large-scale invasion. Russian troops have been bombing key infrastructure and residential areas of Ukrainian cities and towns with artillery, rockets, and ballistic missiles.

It is going to be difficult for Putin to reverse out of this war now he surely realises he has made a mistake. His psychopathic nature will not allow him to back down and lose face to his people and the west.

Our best hope is that he is taken out in a coup d’état by his inner circle. However at this stage it seems unlikely.

    He is obviously mentally deranged.

Another slight hope is that Xi will exert influence to stop him beginning WW111, which would no doubt escalate to the nuclear button being pushed and basically bring the human race to an end.

We allowed him too much latitude in the past, Georgia, Crimea, Shooting down MH 17, poisoning enemies overseas etc.

I have not got the answer but we are as close as possible Armageddon that I can remember.

How long do we stand back and bear witness to the civilian atrocities being committed in Ukraine?

Ex-Black Ops Agent: This Is How Putin Could Meet His End

Spooks from Langley to Kyiv are likely to be quietly untangling an espionage conundrum that dare not speak its name, according to a former senior intelligence agent who was once regularly involved in such discussions: “Could President Putin really be assassinated?”

“The operation is on every intelligence agency’s design table,” a veteran clandestine operative for France’s General Directorate for External Security (DGSE) told The Daily Beast. “I know this because I used to plan them.”

To be sure, killing Putin as a means of ending his war in Ukraine is a volatile topic to raise officially. It’s also diplomatically discourteous. “Oh, wouldn’t it be great if someone internally just took this guy out and eliminated him,” Florida Republican Senator Marco Rubio recently mused, hurriedly adding, “that’s not the official policy, obviously, of the United States, no one’s talking about the U.S. doing it.”

The retired DGSE agent—an elimination specialist whose attention to detail receives high praise from his fellow liquidators—said the most efficient method would be poison.

“The attempt will be from within the Kremlin. This is not an outside job,” he said.

This would certainly not be the first attempt to assassinate a sitting Russian leader. Back in 1866, the revolutionary nihilist Dmitry Karakozov tried and failed to murder Tsar Alexander II in St. Petersburg. He was executed for his effort.

Arguably the most curious effort merely resulted in a catastrophic change of menu at the only Chinese restaurant in Moscow. The year was 1952 and the Hotel Peking on Mayakovsky Square was nearing its completion to celebrate Sino-Soviet friendship. Although the hotel didn’t open until 1955, two years after the death of Joseph Stalin, Chinese Communist Party Chairman Mao Zedong sent a favorite chef to Moscow to open a restaurant just off the hotel’s lobby.

The story—endlessly told by the Peking’s staff and management during the nearly two years that I lived in one of the hotel’s apartments—had all the trappings of an espionage horror movie. The chef was not really a cook. He was an assassin sent to kill Stalin. But the KGB got to him first, slamming a kitchen cleaver into his head, and—according to hotel legend—leaving his ghost, ax-in-head, to haunt the hallways in search of Stalin.

How today’s spooks might be proposing to take out Putin—deniably, of course—is another mystery, but a stroll down memory lane in the assassination business inspires recollections of classics like the ice-ax, the roof-toss and, the favorite of Genovese Crime Family hitman Richard “the Iceman” Kulinski, a nasal spray bottle filled with cyanide.

“Russian intelligence is likely the only one left that deploys poison as a default,” says the Frenchmen, citing a long roster of Russian potions used to eradicate Kremlin enemies from 1957 KGB defector Nikolai Khokhlov (coffee laced with thallium) to a 2004 assassination attempt on Ukrainian presidential candidate Viktor Yushchenko (dinner seasoned with dioxin).

Putin prefers poison. Polonium-210 triggered the 2006 death of Alexander Litvinenko and Novichok was responsible for the nearly fatal 2018 attack on former Russian spy Sergei Skripal in England. Back on home turf, Prince Felix Yussupov in 1916 allegedly took out the mad monk Grigori Rasputin with cyanide and a few bullets in the head; more recently, Putin’s people in 2020 attacked opposition leader Alexei Navalny with Novichok. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov at the time disagreed it was a “trend,” adding, “you’ll agree that in many countries in the world, everyday a lot of poisonings happen,” he said.

“All true,” says the DSGE agent, “but nobody does it better than the Russians.”

Yet poisoning Putin wouldn’t be an easy task. According to a source who works in the upper echelons of a Russian ministry, Putin in February allegedly sacked the some 1,000 people—from cooks to launderers to secretaries to bodyguards—who catered to his daily personal and professional needs and replaced them with a new group of attendants.

“Putin is of course aware someone is coming after him,” says the Frenchman. “Killing Putin is not an easy task, but Putin knows it can be done, and that’s guaranteed to scare him.”

Scheduling is everything. Would-be assassins like to “gather information. Determine habits. Correlate all of Putin’s back-up options,” the covert operator adds, ticking the boxes. “Doubt Putin will travel far by vehicle. There’s no armored vehicle that can survive a few tons of explosives buried under the street.”

The former DSGE black-operations planner says any hit on Putin most likely will have someone in his inner circle, or a phantom just outside the perimeter, as the trigger man. “It will be an expensive job, a fortune,” he says. “In my experience, I’d wager an asset is already in place. There always is.”

Ukraine Strikes Back: Barrage Leaves Russian-Occupied Kherson Airbase In Flames

The War Zone has obtained from Planet Labs confirms that Ukrainian forces have damaged and destroyed a number of Russian helicopters, and caused other damage, in an attack on Kherson Airbase in the southern part of the country today. This is the second major Ukrainian attack in as many weeks on this base. Russian forces first claimed to have taken control of Kherson, which occupies a strategic location on the northern shore of the Dnieper River, some two weeks ago.

The image, portions of which are seen below, was taken at 11:35 AM UTC, or 1:35 PM local time on March 15th, 2022. Multiple large fire sources, including a number of burning helicopters, can be clearly seen on one of the base's main ramps. Thick black smoke emanating from various points could well be obscuring additional damage beyond what is readily visible. There do appear to be other fires burning under the smoke plume, indicating core infrastructure at the base was also damaged or destroyed. A number of other small fires burn around the base — which is just covered with vehicles following Russia's seizure of it — as well.

Neo-Nazi Russian Attack Unit Hints It’s Going Back Into Ukraine Undercover

One of the most notorious battalions of the secretive and deadly Wagner Group appeared to suggest it was prepping to return to Ukraine, raising the prospect of a Russian assault.

One of the most feared and radical Russian paramilitary groups may have slipped up on social media and revealed its plans to return undercover to Ukraine, where it was accused of committing war crimes during a previous incursion.

Task Force Rusich, a Russian mercenary unit which glories in its neo-Nazi reputation, became known for its brutality when it was first deployed to the Donbas region of eastern Ukraine during peak fighting between Russian separatist forces and the Ukrainian military in the summer of 2014.

Drone video captures killing of civilian

According to a ZDF Frontal investigation, a camera drone observed the killing of a civilian by Russian soldiers near Kiev. Suspicions of war crimes in Ukraine are growing stronger.

ZDF Frontal obtained drone footage from an anonymous source in Ukraine. They are two individual clips, one two minutes long, the other almost four minutes long. What they show is shocking: it is March 7 2022, early in the afternoon. A Ukrainian surveillance drone is filming the E40 expressway a few kilometers west of Kiev.

North of the highway, Russians have taken control over Kiev's suburbs. They have advanced to the road. The drone films a Russian tank position a few meters from a gas station, the tank bearing one of the typical white identification marks of the Russian forces in Ukraine. In front of it: a blue car, apparently damaged by bullets. And in the woods next to it: the small but distinct silhouette of soldiers can be seen carrying rifles.

Saddam Husseins military and Bagdad Bob did the same thing. The US was supposedly experiencing huge losses in 2003. Now imagine that Saddam and Bagdad Bob had the entire Anglo American media on its side. And was propagating the same narrative to the world. That's is what's happening now with Ukraine.

If they were smart, they would be putting out numbers that were actually believable. But they aren't. And they don't have to. Ppl really believe it anyway.

Russia has cruise missiles with 4500 Km range. The US Tomahawk has 1700 km range. That's all you really need to know.

Well, a couple of possibilities from that.

The Vasily Bykov is a Russian Project 22160 patrol ship, of which several were manufactured.

Not very hard to simply paint the Vasily Bykov # 368 on the vessel.

    or

What you show is earlier footage taken before the Vasily Bykov was destroyed.

    or

It was another Project 22160 patrol ship that the Ukrainians destroyed.

    or

any number of other possibilities ...

Anyway we are entering an Aleppo moment for Mariupol. Mariupol was/is Azov headquaters and where the bulk of Ukraine military was for the fight against the Donbass. Atrocity propaganda will reach a new level. There's already claims by azov that 1000 civilians died in a theatre bombing. Probably will get to the mainstream media soon.
